Amazing place, has everything you need and more! Clare was an amazing host who went above and beyond. Very dog friendly, love the private front garden. Location is fantastic, less than 5 minutes drive from Ballater.
Maybe some larger drinking glasses but that's just nit picking.

Warm and cosy, with lovely towels, bedding, and toiletries. The bed was huge and very comfortable too. The property is in an excellent location and just a short walk from the town.
Nothing - was all good!

Location (5/5): The cottage is perfectly situated in Ballater, right in the heart of Royal Deeside and the beautiful Cairngorms National Park. It serves as an ideal base for both serious hiking and gentle exploration. Being able to drive past landmarks like Balmoral Castle on our way to activities was a real treat. The village itself offers charming local shops and is just a short drive or slightly longer walk away.
The Property (5/5): The accommodation was incredibly cozy and welcoming. It was exceptionally warm and comfortable, perfect for winding down after a day out in the Scottish air. The cottage felt clean, well-maintained, and provided a peaceful retreat.

The cottage is in a beautiful, quiet, but not isolated, situation, only 1.5 miles from shops, restaurants etc. in Ballater. It's fresh and modern inside, very comfortable, warm and well-appointed - a great place to come back to after a day outside. There is now a small seated area outside, that faces the view and catches all the sun. Parking is right outside the door. Clare was a very engaged and communicative host. It's in the middle of a very scenic part of Scotland where there's a great range of things to do, from the sedate to the wildly energetic. We visited in Autumn, when the colours are fantastic and the summer crowds have gone - and were lucky enough to get good weather too! I've mentioned some downsides below, but none of them should be enough to put anyone off - I would thoroughly recommend the cottage.
Nowhere to store groceries, other than the fridge. Even a shelf would help.
Mountain view? Well, better from upstairs.
River view? I think I could maybe see a sliver of river from upstairs.
Fireplace? Well, not in the conventional sense - just a coal-effect electric unit with convection, in an odd place. But the cottage is warm so it's not needed.
TV is web-only and the broadband kept breaking up.
If you like to listen to radio or music, you'll need to use your phone for the somewhat enigmatic Bose speaker system, either with Bluetooth or the dedicated app.
If you like pepper on your food, you'll need to take your own!

The downstairs was a really delightful living space and very well appointed. Exceptionally clean and modern. TV with lots of channels, parking outside the door and the bathroom was really lovely
The upstairs bedroom was small. The location is fabulous if you want to be in the country and near the river, we would have preferred being within walking distance of Ballater

Lovely cosy cottage in quiet location. Everything you need is there and it has a lovely feel to it. Lovely walk into ballater and lots to see and do in deeside. Our Labrador loved it!

Lovely, quite new little cottage-like property. True to the pictures and very clean. The shower and bed were good! Fully equipped kitchen and even a small dishwasher. A walk to Ballater is between 30-40 minutes and 5 minutes by car. All kinds of beautiful walks just by stepping out of the door. The owner Clare was very helpful (and has the cutest black Labrador). Highly recommend!
Personally, I would not have carpet downstairs, especially around the kitchen area. Minor detail: there was no space/cupboards for any groceries.

We booked this cottage for a quiet weekend break away from work stresses. Couldn't have booked a better location, the cottage was just off a quiet country road, with a wood nearby to walk our dog. Clair (the owner) kept chickens, so an honesty box at the end of the road was ideal for fresh eggs for breakfast in the morning. The cottage was warm and cosy and well stocked with all the utensils and crockery that you might need.
Having to leave on Sunday to go back to work 😒

The cottage is beautiful; very clean and stylish.
The bed is extremely large and comfortable. This was literally our best nights' sleep for a long time.
Luxury white, fluffy towels were provided along with luxury bath and shower soaps.
Our hosts were friendly and helpful.
We had a relaxing stay whilst being close enough to walk to Ballter, cycle for miles and enjoy Braemar Games.
We liked everything!

The location was ideal for our reason on coming to the area. We were visiting golf clubs in Banchory. Aboyne, Braemar and Ballater.
The ONLY thing was there was no electrical plug socket below the mirror in the bedroom which meant it was difficult to use the hair dryer!!

The cooking facilities were great. We like making meals ourselves and were surprised by the facilities. Plenty pots and pans, an oven and even a dishwasher!
The only thing I can think that I did not like, was the coffee machine. I would have preferred filter coffee. A minor thing though, and probably one of taste.

Clean, comfortable, well equipped for 2 people. Close to Ballater where there was a very good choice of places to eat. Lovely walks nearby.

Thank you for providing an absolutely exceptional property for us to stay in, the decor was very beautiful which had a modern but traditional feel. The bed was absolutely amazing and very comfortable. Glen muick and surrounding areas are breath takingly beautiful, Ballater has a very family/community feel, we were made to feel welcome everywhere, our only disappointment was, we had to leave, we both said, we could live there very happily, we've absolutely fallen in love with your property, Scotland, the people and the food. We have already looked to book a longer stay in the winter months.
Thank so much.
Best wishes
Pete and Tracey King 🙏
We had to leave when our holiday was over 😪

No complaints at all
Just an observation possibly a supporting handle within the bath to help for support getting in and out and when showering and toilet seat adjusted to stop falling down (just a man thing).

spacious, modern and comfortable with many lovely extras, including high quality bathroom toiletries.
Also complementary free range eggs on arrival.
Sloping ceilings in the bedroom don’t go well with a 6 foot 2 husband!

We loved our stay in this old steading conversion. Done up very nice, we spend 3 nights going for walks and afters relaxing in the spacious lounge area, underfloor heating made us felt cozy from word go. Very well located to quickly get to Ballater or Loch Muick walks or Balmoral estate.
One of the most comfortable beds with softest of bedding we ever slept on. Beautiful bath and shower enjoyed after cold walks.
Good WiFi signal
To us it looked the place needed some attention or small things touches that would make you feel welcomed and smile.
I'm not wanting to sound like 4 in a bed person, but some cobwebs around windows and headboard, no salt or pepper in doses (went back to shop to get that and I thought we came prepared), used coffee pod still inside coffee machine from the previous guests, no tea bags, sugar dose not topped up...for a self catering accommodation I must say I expected a bit more attention and care for the price. Kitchen could probably benefit with a couple of standard size tumblers, a non stick frying pan that doesn't weight 5 kg! :(

loved this place.
perfect location
loved the decor
very cosy
lovely bed, pillows and towels
we had our dogs and unfortunately no enclosed area for them. My dog is really nervous and it was a bit of a nightmare. they have another cottage with a garden tho so would either leave dogs home or go for the bigger cottage.
The milkman came racing down the gravel drive at 2:30am and woke us all up

Stayed here for 4 nights. Had a fantastic time. Clare the owner was great in answering any questions we had. She even very kindly left us fresh eggs which were delicious. Cottage was spotlessly clean with super quality bed, bedding and towels. Loved every minute was so cosy and heating and lights were on for our arrival so much appreciated. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again if in this area. Thank you for a lovely holiday experience

Great location for Glen Muick and Ballater. Nice spacious place to stay. Newly modernised.
Maybe have some kind of screen / day curtain for privacy from the front area.
