Startan accomodation but clean and conveniently located!

Located in a central area of Goch in the pedestrian shopping zone. Lots of restaurants nearby. Fairly quiet. .Clean.

I had trouble reaching the absent manager on arrival. When I eventually reached him on his mobile phone, he informed me that the keys for the 2 rooms I had booked were held by the cafe proprietor next door to the hostel. She accepted cash only. I was somewhat surprised to find that one room did not have a toilet. However, this might have been my misunderstanding of what I had booked. I would recommend checking carefully before reserving. The rooms were quite minimally furnished but adequate for an overnight stop.

More than sufficient for a night sleep before an early flight. Communal areas like the toilet and showers were very clean.

The mold will make you sick

The owner responded to questions and provided a small refrigerator for food at no extra cost. He also provided a thorough tour of the facilities.

The shared shower room reeked of mold. It also flooded the nearby hallway, shared restroom, and came close to flooding a guest room after I took a short shower. Given the overwhelming smell of mold, this must be a long-term problem that's been ignored. The owner did say this is being taken care of after I messaged him about the flooding. Other problems include a lumpy mattress, horrible pillows, the location of our room next to a noisy street, and no fans available for cooling although the weather was warm and there's no air conditioning. This was a really horrible stay.

All the basic needs you need for an overnight stay.

Your basic facilities where there. Everything was clean. Flexible check-in and check-out. You where in the center of the village which was a plus. Alot of nice restaurants in walking distance.

The owner could've been more friendly. The beds where quite dated.

Located in the center in this old town Goch.... and this hostel is a cheap option, if you are gong to eindhoven or other big city in the area. The very best place to et true German schnitzel... is restaurant "Heidestübchen".

No bag in the garbage can.

Great value for your money!

This place is awesome value for your money. I have stayed at this hostel multiple times, and have always found what I was looking for: clean facilities and a good night’s sleep. The gentleman who runs the place appears to be a native of the “Niederrhein” region of Germany - reserved on the outside, but really friendly and accommodating once you get to know each other. I have no doubt always felt welcome, no matter how late or unexpectedly I’d arrive in Goch. The internet worked just fine, as did all facilities throughout the place. Everything was spotlessly clean, both the shared facilities as well as the on-suite bathrooms. Sure I could have paid twice of three times the money to get a quaint little hotel room somewhere else, but for a good night’s sleep, a clean bathroom and working wifi, I’d happily return to Gästehaus zum Padre any time!

Nothing at all - I knew what I was signing up for then I booked a hostel room, and I’ve never been disappointed!

excellent! comfy, clean & great value for money

fab place to stay! great location in Goch, surrounded by nice restaurants and things to do. very clean and secure. beds were really comfy and the shower was great too! we had to check in late at night and they were very accommodating!

we didn’t know it was cash payment on arrival only and we didn’t have any cash on us at that moment, and there was no atm close by :(

Clean, convenient & inexpensive.

Simple, clean & Comfortable. My room was not an en-suite but I knew that when I booked & I did not expect it at the price. The toilets & showers were clean & well lit, as was the entrance hall. My room was completely adequate. It was clean, comfortable and equiped with a generous single bed, washbasin, desk, wardrobe & chair. If I'm in the area again I won't hesitate to book a room at Gastehaus zum Padre again. PS There's a pay car park, about 100 metres, at the bottom of the road or the Market Place parking (not on Market Days) 100m up the road.

No complaints from me.
