Great option close to Rotterdam and Den Haag

Modern hotel, tasteful decoration, bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had a great view from our room. We liked everything! When we arrived there were also small toys for our baby, small details that count a lot…Highly recommend staying at VdV Schiedam.

Comfortable and luxurious feel with good service.

The hotel is modern with beautiful minimalistic design with all the amenities and comforts needed. The room was very clean and comfortable. Lovely shower. Breakfast was very good with large selection of hot and cold foods. Service was friendly and attentive without being too much.

Lovely place - great rooms and lovely staff

Out of the busy centre but easy to hop on a tram or metro into the city - around a 15 minute easy flat walk to the stops. We had lovely views from our spacious Superior King room on the 12th floor, and the soundproofing was great. The hotel was not noisy even though it was incredibly busy. The bathroom was stunning, with a huge freestanding bath under the window & his n hers showers in one cubicle. Staff were great & we enjoyed our stay.

The bed set up wasn't the best and not to our taste as it was too soft and unsupportive. We hate rubber waterproof sheets and memory foam toppers as they are hot and not breathable. Sheets are easy to remove, but with this bed there wasn't a mattress under the topper, just a leather effect soft sprung platform. The meal was delicious and the waitress was lovely, but getting the wine we ordered was a bit of a faff.

Nothing i got robbed by them

I was robbed by this hotel and I filed an official complaint with the police station. From the beginning of my arrival, I was not satisfied with the way they treated customers. The first day I went to buy perfumes and gifts and I had the bills. The second day I went out with my friend and we ran into the cleaning lady and she said, “I will clean.” Your room. We returned to the hotel and found our new things missing. We told the hotel manager. She said I checked the cameras and the door locks. No one entered your room and you put in a do not disturb card!! The next day, the manager said, “Yes, the cleaning lady entered your room and did not clean the room because it was not tidy, and she put it in the Do Not Disturb system!” We told her why you lied. She apologized for her three lies, but she insisted that they did not rob us and did not want to show the cameras, but I live in the Netherlands and I believe in the honest police and the honest judiciary that will take its course. The issue is not money but a principle. Moreover, they do not clean the rooms and They do not put towels, and if you call them, they make you look for 4 minutes and then they hang up the phone. The worst hotel I have stayed in in my life. I regret my life. Also, the hotel is far from everything. There is nothing next to you. You are forced to pay money for delivery services.

Generally we love Van der Valk hotels, and will definitely come again. Lovely room, parking, great breakfast. And most important for us - pool with sounas on the top floor with fantastic view. Schiedam branch seems new / renovated. Besides that check out was at 12, and not at 11 as mentioned on booking.

1. There were no additional towels for sauna and pool. There actually was 1 additional towel for that in the room. But that is just not enough: first you need 1 towel to lay on, and another - to go into sauna. Second - what if you go once in the evening, and then in the morning. We ended up with 1 super wet uncomfy towel per person for all this time. We totally support the idea of being environment friendly, but this was a little bit too much. 2. Just a note. Our room was super modern and looked great. However it was kind of one space together with the bath and sink. Shower and toilet was separated and behind the door, but sink was just in the room. And you can see the bath when passing by. So if you wake up early in the morning and turn the water on, your partner will wake up. And I am not sure that this setup fits to non-partners. Families like grandparent - parent- child would probably feel uncomfortable. Anyway, for us this was romantic, and I hope the hotel provides other options for other family setups. Good to check before booking though :)

The restaurant was a bit of a disaster, we waited very long to even just have our order taken, while the restaurant was almost empty. Then we waited again a very long time to getour drinks, and then to get glasses to drink our beverages... The the food also toook very long and the quality was very disapointing. Service wasn't pleasant. We will not recommand the restaurant.

The location was convenient for what I needed. The hotel itself was very clean and well ordered. The top storey pool was delightful. The breakfast was probably one of the best experienced; a small detail I suppose but excellent. The staff were extremely good.

Lovely stay!

Room super comfortable, big and very stylish. It had a great bathtub and a big shower that I really enjoyed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free parking and very convenient.

Very good

The hotel is really nice and modern and the staff in the restaurant is really polite and nice. The rooms are big and the bed is extremely comfortable.

The staff on the reception is often helpless and not very customer-oriented. I pre-paid my trip and it was as not possible to get an invoice 1 night in prior to my departure, bc ‘I did not fulfil my stay’. Bathrobes are not available since weeks. People are constantly running with their street-shoes through the spa-area. There are also people filming with their mobiles in the sauna-area. That should be organized much better. 25€ extra charge for room-service is ridiculous.
