Good stay but far from center

Dont book

Upon arrival, the staff seemed extremely uninterested, as if they didn’t want to be at work. Most of the employees appeared to be students, and their attitude reflected that — very unprofessional. We had booked the Executive Double Room with one double bed. After checking in and arriving at the room, we discovered that we had been given two single beds pushed together. This was never communicated to us during check-in or beforehand. We went back to reception to request the correct room, but instead of a solution, we were told they were fully booked and that this was “the only option.” We paid for a room with one proper double bed, so the room we received felt more like a downgrade than anything else. When I asked why this wasn’t communicated in advance, the staff gave a very dismissive answer: “It was busy.” There was absolutely no sense of hospitality or willingness to make up for their shortcomings. The rooms are also extremely noisy — when someone leaves their room and the door slams shut, it sounds as if it’s happening inside your own room. This caused us to wake up multiple times during the night. To make matters worse, the towels were not clean. I’m used to hotels providing neatly folded, fresh towels, but these were already poorly presented, and once unfolded, 4 out of the 4 towels had makeup stains and other marks on them. Overall, this is genuinely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. If you’re looking for a place to stay in this area, I strongly recommend going across the street to Van der Valk Schiedam instead.

Good location

They lure you with low prices but then charge you 10€ for parking which is not common so far from a city center. The breakfast costs a whopping €24. Old hotel, a bit worn out. Could have slept at vd Valk for same price which is far better.

Convenient location when driving, parking at a reasonable rate, adult excellent bed (not the sofa bed, though!). Common facilities. Children facilities (playground, kids room)

Was informed on arrival that we had 47€ to pay on arrival after paying in full on booking. Paid via Booking.com for 2 nights. To my surprise there were 10€ per day parking fees and other various taxes and room servicing charges on top of that. Ended up paying nearly 1/4 extra of the entire stay which was sprung upon us when we arrived. Very disappointed. For the price we ended up paying in total, we could have stayed somewhere nearer the city. Nice hotel just a shame there are extra costs which we were unaware of when booking. Will not be staying at a Novotel again and will be thoroughly checking bookings in future.

Terrible

During my stay at the hotel, the smell in the room was unbearable, especially from the mattress, and the floor was dirty. It seemed the room hadn’t been cleaned. We asked the receptionist, who told us, “What I kan down?” On top of that, someone I met in the parking lot told me their room window wouldn’t close. Honestly, for a 4-star hotel, I’d give it just 1 star.

Rooms were quiet dirty, the coffee machine was not cleaned and it was very very dusty, I asked the receptionist but no one came to clean it. We stayed 2 nights and our bathroom was not cleaned either

Given a choice I would not stay there again.

I liked that the hotel was right next door to where my conference took place. Additionally, the staff was able to secure me an Uber before I managed to do it myself. Furthermore, the staff at the bar was friendly.

Given that this is a four-star hotel, I had expectations of what the stay should have entailed. Unfortunately, many were not met, and in my opinion, this is not a four-star hotel. At most, it is a two-star hotel. 1. The staff at the hotel rarely replies to emails. 2. Upon arrival, myself and three other guests wanting to check in were made to wait in line for 34 minutes. This was unacceptable since they had three people behind the counter, but all avoided making eye contact with any of us. 3. My room's fridge did not work, and the smell that came from it was disgusting. 4. My TV was missing a cable. 5. The coffee facility in my room was inadequate. Every night after returning from the conference, I had to go back down to reception and ask for coffee and milk, seeing as these were not stocked up during the day. The one evening, the staff member said I had to go enquire from the bar since she did not have sachets. I obliged and asked the bar. They also did not have. Back, I went to reception, and I was told that she would now have to go up to housekeeping to find me coffee. I was made to feel as if I was the burden, but surely asking for coffee should not be an issue. 6. For two days of my stay, my room was not attended to during the day. My empty coffee cups were not removed. I had to go ask for clean cups. My dirty glass in the bathroom was not changed throughout my stay. 7. The quality of the bath towels is not what you would expect from a four-star hotel. Very thin and well-used.

Beautiful Hotel

It was a very nice hotel, our room was great, there were alot of people that were checking in that day, so cannot blame the staff but it took us 45 mins from the time we got into the hotel to actually be able to get into the room. Overall the location and facilities at the hotel were very nice!

Air conditioning not working still. I stayed in June not working since then. They don't tell you this when you book. Management never seem to be around. When booked with booking.com was quoted 397 euros and check-in charged 536 euros. Only realised I was over charged when complaining about air con overheard lady complaining about being over charged. I did manage to get 80 Euro refund, but would never have stayed here if I was informed air con not working.

The Rooms are clean, and the parking lot was nice, the hotel is family friendly with indoor place space and outdoor play ground, also some tables in the lobby in case you got food from outside and doesn't want to eat in the room.

The kettle in the room was dirty, it needs cleaning, there was no water bottles in the rooms during my whole stay, and when asked the reception about it they told me tap water is drinkable, i do respect this, but in all my travels all hotels had water bottles in the rooms, so I had to buy water from the supermarket and bring it with me, Also there was no express laundry/ironing service avaible, and when I requested an Iron to iron my cloth i received an ordinary iron instead of steam iron, it was hard to iron linen clothes, I think they should have steam iron like most hotels.

Booking was confirmed howevr upon arrival there was no room for us!

We booked this hotel for 2 adults and 2 children. Novotel confirmed that our late arrival was no problem. When we arrived at midnight we were told that there was no room for us and the hotel was fully booked! We told them that our booking is confirmed and you have even confirmed our late arrival, so how can it be? they told us it was a mistake and they could nok do anything! So we were standing in the middle of the night with 2 kids and were beeing thrown out of the hotel! We then asked to talk to the manager and the employee told us that he had already contacted her and gave us a business card with her number. We asked him to call her in front of us! so he called and then they called anothere hotel and we were given a room there. Very BAD service , is this really the way you treat your guests??? If the mistake is yours then the solution should also be yours!!!! We are NEVER booking Novotel again!

I liked the cleanliness , the place was amazing and quite and I loved the breakfast

The availability of the room service in the evening was poor ..it was not instructed on the website that we can't get room service at night and we needed extra things for the kids and that was not POS .then it was told to us that we.needed to put it in the remarks on the Web site wich we didn't see anywhere when we were booking
