Large room with sea view
Fantastic location, large room, clean and comfortable bed. Really good well cooked breakfast and nice friendly helpful staff.
The room was large and the shower was good but the room could do with a bit of an update and not be quite so basic but again for our one night stay it was perfect.

Great place to stay, excellent food, friendly staff and free parking
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Food for dinner and breakfast was beautiful, very filling, fresh and tasty. Room was a good size with sea front view and good amenities. Also free parking was provided. We've booked again for next year.
There's no lift so we had to walk up 2 flights of stairs but the staff helped us with our cases so no big issue.

An off-season family break in beautiful Minehead.
The room was ideal for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids with interconnecting rooms inside a single front door. The view from the balcony was amazing. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was superb.
Maybe a minor refresh to the decor.

It was okay but the Hotel looked tired and could do with decoration / refurb
The Breakfast it's self was excellent.
We were one of two other occupants at the time and for some reason the three tables were laid close together in a row. It was rather like being in a school dinner hall. Large room with plenty of other spare tables so we could have been split up. The Dining Room was in total silence with no background music.
The Bedroom and Bathroom could have been cleaner. The Bathroom had mould on the upper walls.

Ok. They catered for my partner who needed gluten free
Near the sea.
A few cobwebs in room.

Disappointed
Atmosphere was good, but because of the friends we were with, anywhere would have been nice.
The welcome from the landlord was rude, the landlady never once spoke to us. Said welcome, ask where we were from, nothing . Nadal!
Cant believe it won a 4 in a bed award, cant see how..... room was comfortable, but alot of dust found, looked nothing like the rooms on 4 in a bed thats for sure.

Nice area, reasonable price
In a lovely area by the coast and amidst attractive older world buildings. Clean and comfortable and reasonable price.
Very quiet with few people in the bar, we were told changeover day for Minehead. Staff did not seem very welcoming. Room very small and entry after closing time and exit before opening time via spiral fire escape.

Good location, but badly let down by poor housekeeping and shabby decor.
The location was good. Had a spacious room with sea view. Breakfast was ok.
The stay was badly let down by the state of the room on arrival. The toilet had not been cleaned and there was thick dust on the bedside lamps. The property is in serious need of a facelift and requires better cleaning staff.

Disappointing.
Staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast good although a limited choice.
Bed & bathroom clean. Room okay though a little small.
Unfortunately the room itself was very dusty & felt grubby for example the skirting & edges of the furniture sticky dusty & with large cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Although the bathroom clean the walls let it down, pealing walls & dirty. The bed had a thin mattress & was extremely uncomfortable. The whole place needs some TLC.

Overall the odd 'niggle' but would definitely recommend the Quay Inn, Minehead.
Collette went over and above to provide everything we required, special milk and the breakfasts were fine, done to our requests. Free on street parking immediately (a few yards!) from the entrance. We slept well, with blackout high quality curtains, and during 'Inn' opening hours access was very easy through front door.
Barman was really good - anxious to please and chef was excellent. Other staff were very friendly. We had a great stay!
This IS being ultra fussy! : No front access 'out of hours' rear access was OK but up a spiral fire escape type stairs. Council trees along road/beach frontage obscured the otherwise great sea view. Not a lot of choice of cereals and no fruit. Toast would have been better in a rack, on the plate it melted the butter, and some places provide it earlier so that a piece can be eaten while waiting for the cooked element (which was very 'full English' if required.)

This was my second visit to this property and a most enjoyable stay once again.
Staff are so friendly and helpful. Room size good. Breakfasts cooked to a high standard and evening menus comprehensive and of excellent quality.
Cleaning not up to standard, dust on skirting boards and corners of the room.

The barmaid was fabulous very warm friendly and helpful . The chef was fantastic made excellent food and communicated well.
The owner of the hotel was most unfriendly and lacked people skills and not supportive . The hotel was basic and very run down and not worth $ 210
Adult per night .
Location was excellent

It seemed a strange choice for our needs, but we came away thankful
Peaceful, away from the hubbub of Butlins. Fantastic breakfast options, and a lovely beer garden high up behind. Quite a few steps up, but well worthwhile.
The only minus ( personally) was the steps up to the room….. but again, worthwhile.

"This was an appalling experience, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this property to anyone."
Nothing
The owner’s behaviour in particular which was marked by rudeness and the use of offensive, derogatory remarks — particularly directed towards our little French Bulldog, a defenceless animal. Such behaviour is entirely unprofessional, deeply disrespectful, and wholly inappropriate in any customer-facing setting.
The venue itself, including our allocated room, was in a poor state of repair, with a pervasive unpleasant odour and an entirely unacceptable standard of cleanliness. These conditions fell far below any reasonable standard one should expect.
When I attempted to raise these issues directly, the owner responded with complete disregard, displaying neither a willingness to resolve the matter nor any acceptance of responsibility. Instead, I was met with a hostile and rude demand to leave the property immediately.
This level of conduct, both in terms of behaviour and property condition, is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. I trust that this matter will be investigated promptly by the appropriate authority, and that robust measures will be implemented to ensure no other guests are subjected to such treatment in the future.

Lovely comfortable sleep, with good breakfast.
Nice location, lovely views and nice atmosphere. Beds are very comfortable and had a really good nights sleep. Cooked breakfast was amazing with good quality ingredients.
Rooms could do with a deep clean, tea/coffee stains on furniture, fair bit of dust and cobwebs around room. Furniture could do with a revamp. Carpets could do with a shampoo just to freshen the room up.

We had a great time. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
There was an old pizza box on the balcony from a previous visitor.
Soap dispensers were empty.

Enjoyable stay, just a few downsides. The location was excellent.
The location, the friendly staff, comfortable bed
My bathroom was not cleaned properly. The toilet, basin and shower were clean but the floor, the top of the bin and other surfaces were not. No shower gel, no shower shelf which was awkward.
Breakfast was adequate, no fresh fruit which is unusual these days.

Very good food and Service
We could not enjoy the nearby attractions recommended by Booking.com as all but one required us to swim across the Bristol Channel, about 28 miles or a 95 mile 2h20 minute drive. Some "LOCAL" attractions

It was a dirty place if I had the money I would have stayed somewhere else
Nothing apart from it had pool table
It was so dirty. The room had a bad smell from the cooking downstairs, Lady was rude when we approached her. The second day a different lady was fine & helpful. Breakfast on the first day was awful. Second day breakfast was better. Pooh down the toilet when we arrived so it couldn’t have been cleaned. Curtains were falling down. Walls were dirty. Mastic round the shower was orange not white. Cobwebs ever where. Electric Extension leads everywhere instead of safe plug sockets. Carpets needed a good clean, we couldn’t put our clothes in the drawers because they were so dirty. No doors on the wardrobe. The space to make tea was covered in stains. The kettle lead was to short we had to put it on the dirty floor only because it felt safer than pulling on the lead. The whole room was covered in dust dirt grim & cobwebs. All the skirtings were covered in so much dirt & dust. 3 of us were staying there but one of us went & stayed somewhere else because of all this he couldn’t stay where it was so bad.

Minehead
It was a level walk to the town, facing the sea. The meals in the evening were nice. The breakfast was lovely would have liked hash browns instead of black pudding
Lots of stairs to room 6.

Good prices, but not friendly.
Very close to the beach, the town and Butlins.
Very good prices in the bar and the young girl serving was very nice. As was the young boy at breakfast.
Right, the owner. A lot of reviews on here of her being rude and to be honest, they ain't wrong. Me and the countless others can't be wrong. We had attitude off the guy that checked us in, not sure if it's her partner or business partner, but he's arrogant.
She lady owner the same. While checking in she appeared and not even a hello. While downstairs drinking at night, not even a hello. Tried to start a conversation during breakfast and she didn't want to know. Me and my wife own pubs and would never ignore customers. Nobody had to talk to anybody, but when they are spending money in your business, you make a bit off effort. Served us our breakfast, slammed the plates on the table while turning her head to ask her mates if they enjoyed their stay. Not a word to us. This was actually our second time here (didn't see her the first time) and we ain't going to stay again. I'll probably get abuse for this like she's done to the other reviewers, but it's true, the owners are rude. '4 in a bed' winner .... The show must have been struggling that week.

The breakfasts at the Quay are amazing.
It could be a little cleaner - the rooms are a little bit ‘tired’

Awful
Nothing
Unhelpful landlord, window wouldn't shut, toilet seat broken and bed broken. Booked breakfast at the convenience of the hotel. Requires updating. This was an extremely uncomfortable and u welcoming hotel. How this hotel won 4 in a bed is beyond me.
