The location in the historic center is charming and atmospheric. There is a washing machine (though no detergent provided). The apartment itself is fine, a bit more “tired” than in the photos, but overall okay. For travelers who don’t need much, it can work.
First, we were three guests but only two pillowcases were provided. The shower is very small and located downstairs, so with more than three people (especially if any are men), it becomes impractical. The locks on the front door are old and extremely stiff, we couldn’t open them on our own and had to ask passersby for help.
The biggest downside is the access: you have to climb uphill for about 15–20 minutes on stairs and cobblestones to reach the apartment. Taxis are not allowed to go up, so you’ll need to carry your luggage yourself. Even though we enjoy hiking, this was a real challenge every time.
But the worst part was dealing with the host. Communication was extremely rude and aggressive. Despite the fact that we collected all the trash and left it neatly at the door (and informed the host about it in advance), loaded all dishes into the dishwasher (but didn’t switch it on), and generally left the place tidy, we were accused of “damage.” The evidence? A single empty glass of water on the nightstand and a tiny tea stain on the table. We also accidentally left behind a piece of underwear, which somehow turned into a full-blown scandal.
Cleaning was included in the booking, but instead of a constructive exchange we only received hostility, threats, and absurd accusations of “disrespect.”
