The Juniper Rooms

Excellent service, great location. Been numerous times would highly recommend

Very comfortable room with a good view over the high street. A very large room with all amenities. We used the local fish and chip shop, a short walk away for a Haggis supper, which was tasty and had breakfast at one of the coffee shops nearby (Lorne sausage and a bread roll). Staff were very helpful. A good value room.

Better signage for the property. We went round in circles for a while and had to phone the property in the end. Turns out we were immediately outside it. Montrose has a quirky layout with many buildings hiding behind the main high street. Unfortunately, the previous hotel sign dominates and the sign for the Juniper Rooms hides just within the alley way that you have to go up. Really the old signs need to go up and preferably put the new sign up in the old position!

The room was very comfortable and clean. I ate at the attached Thai restaurant and the food was superb. Staff are very friendly. I would stay there again if the need ever arose.,

Not a big issue, but my room was on the 3rd floor up flights of stairs. This was not a problem for me, but could be an issue for someone less mobile. Room ARE available on lower flours however.

Glad there was a fan. Bed was comfortable

Didn’t like having a separate toilet and shower room. Decor was very old with mould on ceiling. Could clearly hear people out on the street.
