Bayview Bed and Breakfast

Great value for money with a wide variety of breakfast options left. Compact but had everything that was needed. Location was ideal by the sea. We didn’t have a sea view but it didn’t matter.

If you have a large car don’t head to the lane/car park. Just park nearby and walk.

It was lovely and warm with a fridge full of goodies!!! Loved it!

All went well. The topping up of breakfast goodies is a really good idea.

The location truly couldn’t have been better. I stepped straight out of my room onto a lovely little patio, with a front-row view of dog walkers along the beach, rolling waves, and the most blissful sound of the sea — pure calm. The owner was incredibly responsive, quick to answer any questions and to take care of anything that needed fixing. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat.

Bed was only a double… so we both had a terrible sleep. There was room for a king or queen size bed if the bedside cabinet was turned 90 degrees which would have been so much better.

You can have the people upstairs when they walk around or maybe kids running around.

Excellent in-room selection of foods and drinks including breakfast cereals, teas, coffees, breads, butter, jams, cheese, milk, juice and biscuits. Fabulous location on promenade. The rolling waves on the pebble beach gently sent me to sleep!

Room and breakfast ideal for our short visit. Facilities are excellent and recommend it for future visits. Warm and cosy with everything to hand and very welcoming. Our local relatives in Stonehaven were very impressed and would recommend the Bayview for other visitors

Perfectly located by the sea (although maybe a November stay didn't really do it justice). Lots of facilities to make our stay comfortable, and a very comprehensive breakfast. Felt very well catered for.

Only tiny issue would be slightly confusing signage as there are multiple places to stay nearby.

This was a lovely find in Stonehaven, excellent location close to beach, easy walking distance to shops, old harbour and a good selection of places to eat. Really impressed with the way the property was run and the lovely little surprises in the fridge - in particular the fresh fruit and real milk. While I chose a room without a sea view I just walked around the corner of the building and there it was!

I really enjoyed my stay here! The room was small but very clean and comfortable, with no musty smell. It’s in a safe, quiet neighborhood right next to the Market Square — perfect for a leisurely walk around town. There’s a nice coffee shop just a block away, and the beach is right around the corner. Dunnottar Castle is only about 15 minutes away, offering stunning views of the ocean. Great location and overall a pleasant stay!.

Room was so clean and management had thought of everything from us leaving a box for our dirty dishes to a fantastic array of fruit yogurt lurpak butter cheeses fresh orange milk water in the fridge to croissant pain of chocolate variety of cereals coffee and teas bread for toast . Absolutely first class .

Wishing we could have booked it for longer but we will be back Next Easter as sitting on the balcony hearing the waves and reading my book was amazing .

Lovely room with everything you could possibly want for a short stay. Great views, comfy bed and a very nice host.

I wouldn’t change anything about this property

The location is nice. It's beach front and easy to walk along the coast. Convenient to everything. The bed is comfortable enough and there is a basic breakfast.

Access is a little confronting. It's down a narrow lane, then you need to turn your car into an even narrower lane to their small carpark (it is a very tight corner). Then you have to carry your bags around to the other side. The room feels a bit dated, but seems to be clean. There are a lot of people passing on the path in front, so not the most private of places (it comes with a beach front view, after all).

Our stay at the Bayview Bed and Breakfast was adequate overall, but a few things made it less enjoyable than we’d hoped. The room was fine for a short stay, and the small kitchen had a microwave, can opener, and knives, which was useful — though oddly, no chopping board, which made preparing meals quite difficult. Unfortunately, communication with the host was disappointing. After sending several messages about the heating (the radiator and towel rack didn’t work), we received no response. As overseas travellers without local phone access, we relied on Booking.com messaging and found the lack of reply quite frustrating. There was also only about a quarter roll of toilet paper provided, with no extra supply, which seemed a bit careless. We asked if we could use one of the nearby parking spaces (there appeared to be several empty ones), but never received an answer. Overall, the stay was fine but lacked the warmth and attention to detail we’ve experienced at other B&Bs. With a little more responsiveness and care, it could be much better.

It was absolutely not at all as described in the listing. In fact, the room we were allocated is not described at all in the listing. It is made to look as if the price advertised is for the rooms described in the listing, but it's not. Breakfast is not 'served in your room' - it's not served at all. The 'Continental breakfast' was 2 slices of supermarket pan loaf left in the fridge, some mini cereal packets, and 1 egg each which had no means of cooking. Oh, and two of the very cheapest slices of plastic cheese that I'm pretty sure you wouldn't even find in a motorway services since the 1970s. In the end it wasn't actually an issue for me because although I had informed the owner of my dietary requirements well in advance, I was completely ignored, so while I certainly paid for bed and breakfast, I didn't actually get any breakfast. Finally, to add some much needed insult to the serious injury the owner was content to inflict on me if I'd actually eaten any of the 'food' that was left in the fridge, it took more mental gymnastics than I could muster to see the table beside the bed as the so-called 'small private dining area'. It was definitely small and private, but I just couldn't bring myself to call it an 'area', let alone a 'dining area'.

Wonderful location with view of the sea. Nice walk along the seafront and convenient for the town. Pleasant outside seating. Very comfortable bed and big towels Great variety of breakfast items, fridge, microwave and kettle.

The view and sound of the sea. A lovely big comfy bed and breakfast was nice. Nice pieces of artwork and hand upholstered chair.

The bathroom is very odd being accessed via a corridor, somehow didn’t feel private. Tiled walls didn’t make it feel homely.

The location was fantastic, close to the water front, the shops and the delightful town. There were loads of opportunity to visit really interesting tourist attractions e.g. castles etc ,loads of opportunity for quite rest and relaxation plus wonderful walks.

The biggest concern for our stay was no real kitchen, kitchen sink, dryer, washing machine etc, but we managed. The lady who serviced our apartment each day was very thorough as we had no kitchen sink she came and collected our dirty dishes daily and restocked us with any food supplies we needed e.g. cereal , fruit , cheese etc. The owner or Manager was on hand to assit with any tricky problems too, a very pleasant person.

The cleanliness and the view. Right on the shingle beach. More than enough breakfast- fresh fruit and all you might need.

The apartment and bed seemed smaller than the photos suggest… bed was too soft and very narrow for 2 adults. Dog walkers let their dogs poo on the grass in front of the terrace- what a shameful and stinky sight to wake up to. The absolute breakpoint was the noisy neighbor (s)… 6 people just going on with their party until they left at 11:15pm. The doors that join the two apartments were like a hollow echo chamber making it worse… we could follow the conversations completely as the guests said several times “okay let’s go…” and then they didn’t. I feel sorry for the owner… but he should at least know it can be very disturbing for guests and should be fixed (the soundproofing at the least).

Great facilities and location, excellent breakfast. Easy self check in and out.

Plumbing in shower exposed- easy to burn yourself.
