Lucky Bamboo'Bungalows and Orangutan Jungle Trekking Tours

I had a lovely stay with Bamboo Monkey, 2 days before and one day after my trek, which was arranged through them, and which was also fantastic. The bungalows are basic but the beds were so comfortable. The included breakfast was very nice and the location excellent. Jhonny, Kella and the lovely ladies who work/live there were all so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Nice room with all you need very close to the jungle,recommend to close a trip with them and ask for roger. Johnny really took care about anything we needed.

Just the cold water in the shower

From the moment I arrived by local bus to be greeting by name and a scooter to the moment I left, I was treated as Royalty. All of the staff are absolutely delightful and very helpful. They arranged a great day's trekking in the jungle with a superb guide. One of my trip highlights. Onward travel from door to door was also arranged. The accommodation is rustic as you are in a jungle area. But very comfortable with mosquito net and fan, although it cools down at night time and I didn't need the fan then. Seating on your own verandah. Restaurant serves local food and beer, loved the curries. Laundry done following the jungle trek at great value for money. The hospitality, though is sincere and genuine. I was a sole traveller who had been welcomed into their family and readily accepted. Thank you all, Jonny, Kella, Farel and everyone who's name I cannot remember or spell who made this trip very special.

Beautiful location between the jungle and the river. Monkeys wake you up and keep you entertained. Jhonny organizes everything and does his best to make you comfortable and feel welcome. The banana pancakes at breakfast are delicious! My guide Rasta provided an excellent tour of the jungle! Mattress is comfy.

I was sick while there so the rustic-ness of it was just too uncomfortable for me. No AC just a fan made cooling down impossible, no hot water for shower which was fine for the heat but not for when you're sick. The family was yelling at each other in the morning which Jhonny apologized for but it still sounded very angry. No complimentary bottled water. No soap (bring your own). Wifi cut out with the frequent power surges. My toilet tank wouldn't hold water so after attempting to fix it once Kela told me to sluice it with the bucket. Woke up on my last morning to no water at all but Jhonny fixed that when he came outside.
