Perfect host

Colette was the perfect host and had catered for every possible need. The property was very clean, and really pretty. The garden was lovely, despite it being February. Colette lives upstairs and was extremely respectful, gave us our privacy, but we had a lovely chat over the weekend. It was also excellent value for money and we would stay there again.

The property is on the edge of a housing estate next to a busy road, so even though it was well-hidden with planting, if you're not used to it, the sound from the road could be a little intrusive. However, the nearest Park & Ride into town was less than a 5 minute drive away so we had a stress-free day in York.

Relaxing and peaceful

The property was amazing and had everything you needed .The garden was beautifully lite up at night , the hot tub was very warm which was welcoming after a long day of travelling and even though it was minus degrees was so nice hot and relaxing , the accommodation was very cosy and the shower was hot , lots of treats were left for us and the area was very quiet , the host was very friendly and explained everything and nothing was a problem , will definetly be staying here again .Thank you Collette

The stay was exactly how we wanted . Perfect.

Where do I start!! The atmosphere was superb. Very clean and comfortable. Everything was as described and Colette was so helpful and even offered us a lift to the centre . She goes above and beyond to make the stay as special as possible. The hot tub was clean and very warm which is perfect in colder weather . Very relaxing and very easy to use.

Amazing, Modern and Stylish . Perfect Host

Everything, modern stylish. Collette was so helpful and attentive, many a text and call even before we arrived to see if we needed anything getting in before we got there. Collette even gave us a lift into the centre as she told us about the parking prices and said she would be pick us up later if required. She left us snacks , tea coffee and milk. The actual property was amazing!!! We will definitely be going back again. Nearly forgot to mention the fantastic lit landscaped garden and the great hot tub to relax in after several hours of shopping. Nothing seemed too much trouble for her and she was the perfect host giving us information about where to go in the area etc. Thanks Collette

Beautiful place to stay!

Collette is so lovely and the property is stunning. We will definitely be back. The garden area is just beautiful and the hot tub is the perfect add on to a relaxing stay. The property is spotless…. We even had snacks provided and honestly, Collette couldn’t do enough for us. If you want a little get away then this is perfect. Highly recommend it.

Perfect.

Our stay was the perfect cozy stay! As we visited for the Christmas markets, it was a delight to see Christmas decorations for our stay. Very well facilitated with bread, butter, crisps, cereal, everything we might of needed, it was there. Would definitely recommend again! Collette was a wonderful host!

A perfect warm cosy festive getaway just before Christmas

The title ‘Cosy’ was perfect as it was super cosy, decorated for Christmas inside and out making our trip to York for the festive markets more magical. Collette added a touch of luxury with a stylish four poster bed and attention to detail will all fixtures fittings and soft furnishings. The kitchen was very well equipped for our needs and the rainforest shower was both powerful and hot. My personal favourite in this flat was the beautiful Christmas tree with the little train ornament around the bottom. We took advantage on the Lazy spa hot tub outside which we enjoyed. The garden also decorated to add Christmas magic. Collette was on hand when we needed assistance to cover it properly for the falling temperatures on the 2 nights we stayed. As for keeping warm, there is not chance of getting cold as there was certainly adequate heating and at times we had to turn the heater off.

The only thing we didn’t like was that we couldn’t stay longer.

Above and beyond perfect

On First arrival and walking into the property it was absolutely spotless everything about it was perfect. The heating was on and left on so there was no chance of feeling a chill through the night. There were a few snacks out for our arrival plus milk and water in the fridge which was great. Collete the host was fantastic. We asked for bus times but she said don’t worry I will take you into the centre in my car which was fantastic en route she gave me tips on how to get back to the property in a taxi without it costing a fortune.on the evening We use the hot tub which was lovely and hot and very relaxing all in all it was only one night but that one night was absolutely perfect due to the property and the host.

Perfect romantic anniversary get away! 🥰🥰

Lovely cosy and very nicely decorated, has everything and more that we could have needed. Colette was very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and gave us a lift into York and she suggested ideas of where to go including guys Fawkes inn for an amazing steak pie. Snacks, water and milk was all provided at the apartment so we didn’t need to get anything.

Perfect Cosy Stay Near to York Centre

This property is a lovely private floor of a town house near York city centre. The facilities were great, a comfy bed, lovely shower and relaxing hot tub. The owner kindly made us feel welcome, offering us a lift into the centre and leaving tea/biscuits etc to help us settle. Knowing Colette was available for any queries was very reassuring during our stay, and we know to return for definite!

Wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend.

Location - only a short drive into York city centre, and if you don't drive the owner is willing to give you a lift in. Free parking an asset. Garden nicely laid out and decorated, with pretty lighting.

The owner told us she lived 'upstairs' but we were shocked to find that this was meant literally. This is only self-contained in the sense that you have exclusive use of the rooms on the ground floor of a 3 storey modern mews house. These rooms are separated from the rest of the property only by a wooden screen placed in the hallway at the bottom of the stairs. There is no structural separation between the owner's accommodation and the holiday rental area. We were not disturbed by any noise, but found it somewhat unsettling that we didn't have the complete privacy implied by the description as a 'self-contained flat'. There was a very strong smell of damp on entering through the back door, which the battery powered automatic air fresheners placed in each room could not mask. Said air fresheners operate every few minutes, loudly spewing an overpowering burst of Glade into the room. After seeing that another reviewer had managed to turn them off, we worked out how to open them and do the same when indoors. The bedroom has a Yale-type lock so you must remember to take the key with you every time you leave in case you forget to wedge the door open, otherwise it will self-close and lock you out of that room. Luckily, the owner was at home when it happened to us, so was able to lend us her spare key. There were other, more minor issues but my main gripe is that I feel the owner should make it clear this is not a self-contained flat in the normally understood meaning of that term.

For anyone looking for an exceptional place to stay, this is that place! It is absolutely faultless. We walked into the garden and both went ‘oh wow!’ It is stunning! Even more so at night when all the lights are on. There’s plenty of outdoor seats to relax and enjoy your evening. The hot tub is brilliant and so lovely to sit in, with all the twinkly lights. It is so calm and relaxing! Inside the property, it does not disappoint at all! The kitchen is well equipped, should you wish to cook. There are so many thoughtful extras, tea and coffee, snacks and even milk so you can get the kettle on as soon as you arrive! The bathroom has a large walk in shower, the water is lovely and hot with a great amount of water pressure. The lounge has a lovely quirky sofa, beautifully decorated and tasteful furnishings. Plus a view of the garden! The lounge and bedroom both have a tv with Netflix and prime. The bedroom is very spacious, has the most beautiful 4 poster bed, fluffy rugs and pillows for that added luxury feel! Like the lounge, it is beautifully decorated with tasteful furnishings. The bed is so so comfy! There’s also a hair dryer, curling tongs, plenty of huge fluffy towels, an Alexa……the list is endless. On top of all of that is Collette. She is an amazing host, nothing is too much trouble. She ensures you’re happy, offers to give lifts, but also leaves you alone if you don’t want any help with anything. I would go as far to say she is the perfect host. You get some that you don’t hear from at all, and some that are too nice and in your face. Collette has the balance right, working out what suits each visitor the best.

Amazing, can’t wait to return

From start to finish our visit was amazing. The property was immaculate with its own parking space and on arrival the host Colette had left us snacks and drinks which is a lovely thought on her part. The secluded outside area with private hot tub was the most relaxing area and even more special in the evening when the fairy lights come on. On our 2nd day Colette was kind enough to run us in to York centre so we could enjoy our visit without the worry of having to park up , she guided us on the best place to get transport back to the property . Both nights we had the best sleep in the most comfortable four poster bed. The property is equipped with everything you would need if you wanted to cook your own meals etc. and there is TVs in the living area and bedroom that have Netflix readily available. There is nothing too much for Colette who will accommodate any requests and always ensures everything is ok during your visit. We will definitely return , very soon hopefully. Christmas time looks to be a good time to visit even for a couple of nights . Thank you so much Colette you have a beautiful property and are so welcoming ☺️

Little piece of heaven

We loved staying here it was cosy and comfortable. The host was lovely and very friendly and helpful. Prime and Netflix for movies to watch in the bedroom and the living room. The bed was comfy the room was spacious. The shower was nice and powerful. Plenty of clean fluffy towels. We loved the charging Bedside tables they were amazing. Kitchen appliances all clean and working once we were told about the cooker and setting the time. The garden was beautiful at night and the hot tub was a lovely treat.

We didn't find the settee too comfortable personally but it was cute and asthetically pleasing.

Colette was a lovely host who had made sure we had snacks and drink supplies ready on arrival, after our journey there. She sent a message with all the key information about the place. And even took us into York centre so we didn't have to worry about buses or taxis on the way there, and informed us on how to get home.

Lovely rooms and location

Clean, plenty of space and lovely facilities. Host was very welcoming and lovely to chat to. If you don't mind a walk, it's an easy flat walk into the city - if following Google maps follow the route via the lake and down Rawcliffe Lane, it's much nicer - I walked in every day - Maps says 55 minutes to the Minster but it was a 45 minute brisk walk for me. Otherwise the Rawcliffe park and ride is close by.

Full use of hot tub which was set in a lovely garden with lights at night. Couldn’t wish for anything more. This is now our secret get away and would definitely recommend to anybody else. Great flat, great host, great location.

We had a lovely stay 2 night stay here last week. It is a great location for visiting York but also only 25mins from Harrogate. Collette is a wonderful host, great communication and allowed us to check in early and check out late, she had left us snacks, tea coffee and fresh milk in the fridge. The flat is perfect, spotlessly clean with everything we needed and more. The bed was so comfortable and Collette gave us an extra fan as the weather was glorious. The garden is a delight, very private with lots of lights and flowers and a fire pit. The hot tub was lovely and warm. Collette was also kind enough to offer us a lift into York around her day job. We look forward to our next stay here.

All on ground level very handy to York we did park and ride just down the road although the owner did say she could drop us in which was very nice. Great onsite parking. Plenty of hot water.

Welcoming retreat
