Ulverston is a great place to visit been loads of times. The cottage great place to stay for the price lovely and warm great towels would definitely stay again the bottle of wine was a lovely gesture thanks to the owners
Not that I didn't like but the TV in the living room could do in my opinion with a up grade it works great and a good brand but nowadays would benefit from a smart TV for the price you can obtain one for now only cheap as a family when you go back after your day out it would be handy as you have Freeview catch up and all the apps netflix/Amazon prime where as people who have account's on them sites can put in their password and watch some movies and the old TV could go in the main bedroom it's only my opinion but would rely be a good boost for your property and your guests

Nice comfotable warm cottage that was dog friendly also close to the town and local pubs. Is a good cottage for 2 people but not for 4 people, as not enough plates etc in kitchen area. Not enough towels in property.
Not enough cooking Implements or enough cooking dishes for the oven or serving dishes or serving spoons.
Not enough plates or glasses for 4 people.
The sockets under the dressing table in main bedroom didn't work.
Bathroom
Shower curtain was very small (think it was a single one did not cover the bath fully) and water was all over the floor during a shower. The shower unit was not secured to the wall correctly.

Very clean, comfortable beds, location for town was good, parking in front of property good.Well equipped in kitchen with a bottle of wine which was a nice touch.
Only thing we didn't like were the stairs upto the bedrooms.Very steep and I would imagine anyone not too good on their feet might find them a little difficult.

It was grear value for money, and very clean, It was quite spacious and adequate inside, beds were very comfortable. Never met the owners but they were super approachable, a text away and made sure any issues we had were sorted asap.
Initially on the first day we did not have wifi but that was fixed the next day however Tv was not a smart tv so we were unable to watch anything on it, especially no cartoon channels for kids.
Despite that kids were very happy and did not want to leave at all.

Location was central as advertised.
Outside space even including shared garden not practical with a dog - at least one other dog was there and potential of cats unknown. Small private outside space under construction, however had not even been swept clean - cigarette ends and spilled toiletry container. Space certainly not suitable for a big dog as our greyhound is.
Outside bins were already full and overflowing.

Size ideal for me. Kitchen well equipped and clean.
Towels provided and clean. Easy to contact owner with a query. Close to where I needed to be during my stay. Downstairs bathroom was small but had what I needed. Toilet upstairs which was great with main bathroom being downstairs. Clean enough.
My main issue was Road Noise when in lounge! Awful! I did however manage to sleep as noise calmed down by 10pm.They drive to the cottage was a very narrow road with bins either side. I would not want to try get a large car down it. In fact it was recommended reverse down in a large car! I would not have wanted to do that! If my daughter had gone I don't think she could have parked outside as well as me- very small area for more than 3 cars! Already 2 cars there.
On entering the property wallpaper was torn off the wall. This made me very nervous entering. There was also wallpaper off the wall near the window in the double bedroom. Stairs very steep. Bannister needs painting plus some skirting boards also need painting.
Blind in main bathroom looks like it's damaged but did the job.
Over bath Shower was great heat wise but quite restrictive as narrow. The bar shower head was on popped out but went back in okay.
Tv only turned on and off on the wall but once on could use remote control okay.
In cupboard in 2nd bedroom where boiler is there was a switch hanging down which did not look great or seem 100% safe.
Very large bed possible super kingsize. Whilst it was a fab size mattress was awful. Very hard and bed squeaked. I slept well though so once I got comfy I slept. Although I was shattered both nights. Not sure all would sleep very well on it.
I did not cook in the kitchen. Only used kettle and a few pots as ate out other than breakfast.
I think the owner can sort a lot of the issues easily. Only issue they can not sort easy is the road noise. Think triple glazing needed at the front. Front door is straight onto area you park and major road going out of Ulverston is the road this fronts onto. No building between you and this road. Shame really. I would say if your put most of the day and don't mind road noise and happy to either park in front of house pr on a road nearby you will be okay here. I doubt I will go again.

The location and price were fantastic, as was the help and communication from the hosts prior to our stay. Although compact, it felt spacious, and had comfortable beds and couches. The kitchen was large with a full set of appliances.
Although the kitchen was well appointed with appliances, more cooking and eating utensils would have been helpful, especially sharp knives and spatula type items.
Most apartments with washing machines also supply laundry powder but this was not the case at this accommodation so unfortunately I was unable to make use of the washing machine, which was a minor inconvenience.
Although the master bed was very comfortable, the fitted sheet was woefully undersized for the bed and so popped off at all corners during the night. And, as none of the beds had mattress protectors, this meant spending the night trying to keep your body on top of the sheet while trying to avoid sleeping directly on the uncovered mattress.
While the complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch and appreciated, I would have far preferred all these small issues were addressed over providing wine. This is otherwise a fantastic property and addressing these easily fixed issues will make it a stand out option.

Spacious rooms, lovely flooring downstairs, comfy beds, nice big bath towels, comfy chairs in lounge, upstairs toilet a bonus, great to have parking outside, nice to have a bath, electric fire and hive heating, shower is ok but needs an extraction fan installing. Washing machine, full size ironing board too. Decent WiFi. Quick response from owner when contacted about no tea towels.
Shared garden was covered in dog poo so unfortunately a no-go area.
Some wallpaper areas are a bit tatty,
kitchen equipment a bit basic (only four of everything so no crockery or cutlery for friends coming round) and pans were scratched.
No cafetière. Hardly any cooking utensils - just one knife, one plastic spoon and a metal spatula (hence the scratched pans)

It was clean and the location was ideal
It was a bit tired and needed a few repair , only two toilets rolls so we had to buy more
Outside area was a no go as there was a very excitable dog belonging to a neighbour
Blue folder needs updating

Very clean
Few bits could do with touching up and we could use the garden as it’s more communal with someone’s dog roaming around which wasn’t ideal

Location was great, easy walk into the town.

The place inside was good value for the money we paid
Outside back garden is very poorly maintained and the busy road in front of the property is as minus too
7.0 / 10.0
Close to the centre.
12 minute walk to the station.
OK in price
Comfortable bed and pillows.
Very clean.
Warm with heating on & easy access to the heating.
On a main road
Some MINOR issues . . . .. ..
Poorly maintained garden area.
House was OK but needed some TLC in places. For example no towel holder or towel in upstairs toilet. Leaving nowhere to hang a hand wash towel.
Needs new shower head as water squirting with potential to wet floor and cause damage.
Could NOT get the oven grill to heat up fully, it needs better instructions .
TV in 2nd bedroom but not a TV in main room

Had everything you needed, very comfortable and cosy. Easy distance to town. Beds very comfy. Excellent property and would definitely come back!
Glad I had read the reviews to know the shower worked the opposite way or we would have thought we were having cold showers! Also there were only 3 mugs but 4 of us so had to take turns having a brew!!!

Everything we could need. It was a base for us for the lakes and I know the area. Ideal for food and drinks with friends who were local too.
Spacious for the 3 of us. All we could need
7.0 / 10.0
It was in a good location for the lakes and a few walks. The house was tidy and great for the price we paid. If you are just wanting a base to go from where you can self cater and have your own space on an evening then this would suit.
Despite the house being pleasant enough, we unfortunately did not have any heating or hot water for the duration of our stay as the boiler had broken. This marred our stay somewhat. We usually go for a hotel, but thought we would try something different. Not sure my husband would be convinced to do it again!

Lovely cottage, super clean, well equipped and really comfortable
A bit tight getting a car to property but we parked easily on adjacent roads, not a problem for us.
9.0 / 10.0
Great location, parking a bit awkward but not a massive issue
Stairs are very loud (creaky) so struggled to be quiet enough not to wake the kids
8.0 / 10.0
Clean & location was ok apart from having to reverse down a very narrow lane to park at property
No dish cloth/ tea towel, had to keep fixing down stairs toilet as stopped flushing, single beds too small for adults! lovely weather but couldn’t sit out in the garden as it was over grown , had to park 1 car in car park

When we entered the premises we were surprised. We could use the whole house and liked it very much there. Our son had his own room, the kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed being there.
The area was filthy and it was not easy to get to the house by car. The narrow street was filled with rows of waste bins on each side all the time. There was even bulk trash in one place. Fortunately, the flat was the complete opposite of our first impression driving towards the entry.

Outside space probably needs a tidy make a bit more usable

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Very well equipped kitchen. Tastefully decorated. Instruction guide was easy to follow for using the appliances.
Property is located on a main road and traffic noise through the night, especially with having the windows open as it was warm was, very loud and disturbed being able to have a good night's sleep.
Neighbour /a smoking weed also made it unpleasant when sitting in the evening. Had to close both the front room and kitchen windows.
A bigger fridge would have been better.

We enjoyed the locality to town centre and lots of lovely walks around the area. Great for older children and families with dogs.
The local people where also very friendly and the town was full of unique and lovely little independent shops.
The garden space was shared which worried me a little about the dogs reacting to the neighbours and their dogs but it seemed to work out well and everyone got on.

the location was perfect. Great for us as we have family in Barrow
shared garden. only because we have a dog that doesn’t like other dogs & we thought it was a private garden. But all was good & we’ve rebooked to go again

Lovely property, clean and comfortable.
Not the best for parking as tight to get down lane and around front when other cars are parked there
10.0 / 10.0
It was central and in easy walking distance from shops and restaurants. The property was clean and in good condition, everything you need was there
There was nothing really bad with the property, although it was close to the main road it was surprisingly quiet at night. Access to the property was narrow so could cause problems if in a large vehicle

The cottage was amazing. Had everything we needed for a long weekend away. Close to pubs and the town was a 5/10 minute walk away. They went above and beyond for me and put up banners for my husbands 40th.
The streets are very narrow. Just be careful when driving.
