Outstanding hotel and service. We stayed in the suite. The suite was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very attentive. Breakfast is great. They have some cool experiences I recommend trying like sound healing, pharmacy and Akademi. The dome is highly recommended for dinner. Overall, I am not surprised this hotel was ranked among the 50 best in the world.

My second time here. While the pool area and room was fantastic as always, friendly staff etc. Unfortunately I got the worst food poisoning from the hotel. I was only eating on site during my 7 day stay. This wrote off 2 of my nights/days. There was no attempt from staff to even ask where I had eaten etc, my partner overheard at breakfast 2 other people complain about having food poisoning the same night having only eaten there. At check out time I was too sick still to do anything, they couldn’t offer somewhere to lie down (other than paying $300 for another 3 hours in the room) and ended up waiting in Dome for 6 hours until it was time to go to the airport. While i really enjoyed my first trip and the first half of this one, how badly I got sick and the hotels response I doubt I will be coming back. Not at $700 a night to lie in agony and unable to eat or drink, not acceptable from a hotel of this calibre.

We stayed at Desa Potato Head and it truly exceeded every expectation. We originally booked the Sunrise Studio, but upon arrival we were surprised with a complimentary upgrade to the Garden Suite, which was such a thoughtful gesture and set the tone for the rest of our stay. What stood out most was how warm and genuine the service was. Every staff member we encountered, from the buggy driver to the pool staff to the reception team, was consistently welcoming, friendly, and attentive. A special mention to Yogi, who assisted us throughout our stay and genuinely made us feel taken care of from the moment we checked in until we checked out. His sincerity and attentiveness really made the experience feel personal. We also truly appreciated the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. Upon check-in, we were given reusable tumblers to use throughout the stay since the hotel does not use single-use plastics, and we even got to bring them home. It’s such a thoughtful and meaningful touch that reflects their values. We spent most of our time relaxing by the pool and were continually delighted by the small details, from complimentary jamu shots to fresh fruit and papaya or watermelon ice cream. These gestures may seem small, but they made us feel genuinely cared for and added so much warmth to the experience. Everything about the hotel—the atmosphere, design, energy, service, sustainability mindset, and people—made this stay incredibly memorable.

Our stay at the Potato Head was superb! Good location away from the hustle and bustle outside which was only a short golf buggy trip from the lobby. Our ocean facing studio was spacious, with a great view and a really comfortable bed. The in-room cocktail bar was a welcome surprise! It felt quiet when we first got there and plenty of poolside Bali beds to use. The beach club is close enough to wonder into as you want to. We dipped in and out as we fancied. Overall, the Potato Head really stands out as a contemporary yet luxurious place to stay. It’s not often that I recommend somewhere but this place is exceptional.

We had an excellent stay at the property. The room was very well-thought out in terms of the layout and the amenities that were available to us. The waterfront restaurant, the fusion restaurant and the beach club all had exceptional service. We were a bit disappointed that the hotel representatives told us about "Sunset Park" but failed to mention that it's a rooftop bar. We only wandered up there on our last day and it would have been nice to know about it beforehand so we could have full enjoyed it!

This is an extremely unique property! It felt like a little village with great restaurants and shops. The decor is very striking and original. The pools were great, especially the Beach Club. And the beach access is terrific. The staff was pleasant and attentive from the moment our taxi pulled up to check in. Highly recommend staying here!

Two years ago, my husband and I spent the last part of our honeymoon at Potato Head. We had originally booked two days, but we instantly fell in love with the friendliness and the people, the scents, the food and the plethora of experiences from light sound healing and massage to the beach club, so we ended up spending five days there. This spring, we once again travelled from CPH, this time with our 9 month old daughter, simply because we wanted to come back to Potato Head for our baby moon, this time an entire week. While we were unsure about how it would be to be there with our daughter, this stay was even better than our first one. We were welcomed back like old family members by staff who remembered us and made us feel at home immediately. While the architecture and location right at the beach is amazing and unique (nothing beats their breakfast in daybeds at the infinity pool), and while the rooms are fantastic (we’ve tried the private pool suite, a single room in the studio and the sky view sanctuary), it is the attentive and friendly staff that makes the difference. Every morning at breakfast, our daughter was greeted with big, warm smiles and laughter by every single staff member. Throughout the day they came by to talk to her, walk around with her and make sure she had all the food and water she needed.
