Hotel Palazzo Martinelli Dolfin

we arrived after 10pm so was dark , we were stood almost outside the front door yet missed it , there is a sign on the wall with the hotel name but the easiest way to see it at night is to look up for the 1st floor balcony the entrance is directly below it, there are no other balconies in the row, putting the code in it worked first time , the pre arrival communication from the hotel was excellent with all the information needed via WhatsApp & Expedia messaging , hotel is really nice, super quiet which is a haven away from the madness that is Venice, as for the lobby entrance to rooms well it’s great, 2 comfy sofas and coffee tea facilities for all to use which was appreciated, the room was easy to access again no issues with the code, I love the fact there is no reception - no waiting for keys or wasting of time getting to the room. The room itself well as other travelers have shared they are huge!! Absolutely stunning , great decor lovely wood floor , massive comfy double bed and small single sofa bed (which I’m also told was super comfy ) for teenager. Bed sheets were crisp clean and the room smelt fresh, huge wardrobe , a safe to store valuables, spare towel & sheets & duvet in wardrobe. Stunning bathroom, balcony seating on lvl 1 for all guests great place to pop for smoke , staff at breakfast she was super friendly , breakfast worth it no question , pastries cake cereal meat bread oats coffee juice pancakes , eat as much as you like YUM, setting is nice too, fab hotel

We loved our stay in Venice the property is good but be prepared as it is not a hotel with staff. The check out is 10 am and the only luggage storage is “unattended” which we were told about in advance.

I absolutely adore that that fact there is literally zero staff, you will NOT feel it at all!! The check in process was explained amazingly thoroughly via emails/whatsapp, it's super easy and convenient. You are able to arrive at the hotel, leave the luggage behind, explore city, come back at the checkin time and enjoy the room. location is superb, walking distance to St lucia train st. and Pallazo Roma bus station. May restaurants around. Room was huge, clean, the only "downside" and really due to our own stupidity it was incredibly cold during night (I guess it could have been easy for us to turn off AC we just didn't think of it, plus only found out duvets in the wardrobes in the morning :-D) Lovely 1 night stay with the fam, if ever back to Venice, we stay here again!!!!!
