I could have not been more pleased with my 8 day stay at Camelia Guesthouse. When I booked, I wanted an authentic neighborhood experience, and that is exactly what I got. The property was beautifully landscaped with a view of Pena Palace and the Moor Castle. It was within walking distance to several restaurants and small shops. The beautiful host family was friendly, warm, and accommodating, easily communicating in English.
The room was clean and comfortable. There was a separate outdoor space adjacent to the room, giving a second way to enter the ground floor room. It was perfect for enjoying a evening glass of wine. Breakfast was served on a reserved table each morning. There was more than enough food that represented a Portuguese meal.
If I ever return to Sintra, I would definitely want to stay there again.

The room was lovely and comfortable, and oh so quiet. I enjoyed eating my breakfast on the balcony in the sun, which I prepared in the shared kitchen. The downside is only that you are quite far out from Sintra and even further away from Lisbon. If you don't rent a car (which would be better), public transportation is doable, but it will take a lot of your time, as I found out!
