Casa do Valle

Amazing place! From the moment we arrived, the receptionist was incredibly helpful and provided us with plenty of useful tips and recommendations for exploring the area. I celebrated my birthday during our stay, and it was a lovely touch that the staff took the time to wish me a happy birthday. Breakfast was served directly to our room, and we appreciated being able to choose exactly what we wanted from a menu. It's a great concept that helps reduce food waste while ensuring everyone gets a breakfast they enjoy. Having breakfast on the terrace while admiring the views of Sintra's palaces was truly unforgettable. If you look closely, you can even spot sheep grazing in the nearby fields. The property feels like a private retreat, surrounded by beautiful greenery and a peaceful atmosphere. We would definitely stay at Casa do Valle again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sintra.

The bathroom floor was quite cold, although it wasn't a major issue and we quickly got used to it. It's also worth noting that the walk to Sintra's historic centre involves a fairly steep uphill climb, which may be challenging for some visitors. This wasn't a negative for us, but future guests should be aware that the pool is unheated and relatively deep.

It’s in a beautiful setting. Our view was magical. Staff is friendly and helpful. The pool was refreshing and the property is peaceful with vibrant flora.

Surrounding streets are narrow and steep making driving and walking to town a bit challenging.

Nice B&B with great views overlooking the valley. Our room was down several flights of stone stairs. Comfortable and on a warm day it would be wonderful to sit out on the patio with a glass of wine. It is in a good location, close to sites, but a little out of the way, which for us was fine. You do have to walk up a steep hill to get into town. Pool looked beautiful but we were there on cold days. Breakfast is brought to your room at a specific time and was quite tasty. Great staff, the most helpful of all who we met on our trip. Gave us good restaurant recs, helped with bags, made rez for Quinta, anticipated our needs. More places should have people like them.

I'm not a fan of breakfast being brought to the room but this one was okay. If you have mobility issues, know there are a lot of steps and the walk to and from town is up and down a steep hill.

The view of the mountains from the pool area was nice.

The rooms look nothing like they do online, they are small and outdated. The grounds was also neglected as the pool was not cleaned and had missing tiles. They didn't seem to care about the landscaping either, outside of our room felt like a cheap campground. It was supposed to be a city escape and we thought the rooms and grounds would be immaculate like in the photos and it's as if they took the pictures then never did another thing to maintain it. Also, the lawnchairs were uncomfortable with no cushions. The parking should be free and they charge 10 euros. They also charge you a late fee of 20-30 euros if you check in after 6:30pm!
