The Nest Boutique Hostel is genuinely brilliant. The lounge and outdoor area are gorgeous, the kitchen space is excellent, and there's an onsite café which is a lovely touch. Coffee and tea are always available—normal and plant-based milk both on hand. The linen and towels are fabulous, rooms are really comfortable, and you're positioned beautifully away from the city chaos with a lovely walk along the ocean to get into town.
The location alone makes this special. That ocean walk to town is genuinely lovely, and staying outside the hustle creates a proper sense of escape without losing access to everything Galway's got to offer.
A couple of practical quirks to know: the bunks in the dorms are interconnected, so climbing into a two-by-two setup is a shared experience. It's not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of. Storage is a bit creative too—no shelves in the bunks, so you'll want packing cubes or a small bag to organise your belongings. If you're in the top bunk, a bag you can sling over the bedpost works brilliantly (which I did), otherwise you'll be losing everything over the side. The in-room lockers are for valuables, not everyday stuff. And the kitchen's busiest during staff breakfast service, but it's easy enough to work around.
Despite these small quirks, this place absolutely deserves the hype. The vibe is warm, the facilities shine, and you genuinely feel looked after. Definitely worth booking.

Honestly hands down the best hostel I’ve stayed at. From the staff to the facilities and amenities; worth every penny you pay. Property is extremely well maintained. Have been travelling solo in Europe and stayed predominantly in hostels and had some not so great experiences. This restored my faith
