Great hotel, restaurant and location. Let down by poor shuttle bus service. There were three buses sitting outside and would not offer a 3 min lift to the station as it was 10 min past their 12pm morning service cut off. Rules are rules...

This property was simply dreamy. Shrouded in beautiful Autumn foliage and appointed with traditional Japanese accommodations (slippers specific to the toilet room, main room and patio each), it felt like quiet, authentic luxury. The breakfast is vast with Japanese options and sufficient western options like fruits, breads and meats.

The staff were great and the room was mostly good. The showers heads aren’t maintained and when you turn them on they spray all directions except where you want them to go. It’s a simple fix that requires pushing the nozzles and clearing debris from them. It’s just a small step that when you’re paying a premium for a high end space you don’t expect to be overlooked. Other than that it was great.
