Onsen Guesthouse HAKONE TENT

Staff was great. Private onsen was very nice and easy to reserve.

Limited showers on property…somehow missed this detail when booking.

Fabulous staff and location. Great atmosphere and social spaces. Generous room (2 people.in a 3 person room) and great old character. Two lovely onsen and a great shower space.

The building is not young amd as such she has some creaks and cracks and therenis no sound proofing, but! Ear plugs are provided and the aircon is a great white noise machine. Excellent space, pools and staff for the money.

The location is very convenient and close to Gora station. The directions to the guesthouse shared was also very useful navigating. The staff there are very friendly and helpful, so feel free to converse with them. I also really enjoyed the onsen facilities after a long day of exploring - they are private (one group in-used at a time), and there are shower facilities if you're up for it. There's a balcony up there too to enjoy the cool air of the night, which is especially nice when drinking the beer bought from the guesthouse bar.

The best part of this stay is the onsen and the staff who are all very friendly.

Stayed in the large family room and it had a terrible musky odor that smelled like something fermented. Beds on the floor were not comfortable despite using an extra futon mattress. It’s very basic, but the onsen made up for what was lacking.
