Staff were wonderful. Charming, old style hotel. Beautiful grounds and perfectly situated. Rooms very tired despite the rustic charm and bathrooms need a desperate clean. Sink and shower didn’t drain. Mosquitos immensely bad and bed nets full of holes. Understandable that mosquitos are abundant but other hotels seem to manage. Still, grateful for a quiet, pleasant stay and the generous, kind staff.

Our room was located at the back of the property, close to the road. There was a lot of traffic noise at night and then early morning, and while outside the control of the hotel, there was road work construction during the day which meant relaxing in the room wasn’t possible. I feel that it should be communicated when booking at the sea view cottage. The room was clean and the staff extremely helpful and friendly.

The staff are very kind and nice. They try their best to accommodate the guests. The breakfast is very generous. They bring a tray of coffee and tee to your balcony early in the morning. These are the only things I liked about this place. It is way over prices for what you get. The main issue is cleanliness, on the first look, it seems clean but not really, everything is run over like the cushions on the balcony are very dirty and stained. I would not sit on them. The room although huge needs serious cleaning. The sheets are old and a bit smelly. The out side shower is full with bugs especially at night, and the bugs find their way to the room. I could not leave anything open. The door does not really look so you do not feel secure. Add to all this the noise. No isolation. So could not sleep for 3 nights. The room is advertised as ocean view but you hardly can see the ocean. The WIFI does not work so you need your own Internet. The hotel is so far from the main places in Amed s you have to walk up and down hilly road with no side curb for almost 20 minutes in the heat. Grab does not really work in Amed. I had to ask them to organize a transport for me to Sanur, and the price was very high. I would not stay in this hotel again. The place have potential if the invest in some renovation and serious cleaning and dealing with infestations. One staff member will tend to the restaurant, make coffee and reception so you should wait for the poor soul to run around. I really loved the

This hotel has seen it’s best days and needs a little bit love. Staff is nice but unfortunately the bungalows are worn down. They should be fixed and cleaned properly. Probably covid has effected the hotel :/ It can be seen that the hotel has previously been romantic and harmonic. We had much cheaper and better hotels during our holiday in Bali but this one has potential also if it was renovated and cleaned. Amed is small and not so crouded place. Nice little get away. There are good snorkling points nearby. The restaurant menu should be shortened and food should be made with fresh ingredients. Local meals were the best in this restaurant. From hotel you can order great taxi driver (Robby) for day trips.

The location of the property is great! We had the ocean view bungalow which was nice to see the ocean and hear the waves. The only downside is the pool is right in front of the bungalow so we heard the guests that were hanging out by the pool.

We loved oir stay in an ocean view bungalow at Santai. The bumgalow waa comfortable and clean,, with nice touches including comfy furniture on the front porch, morning coffee delivered to your room, and a lovely carved wooden headboard and mirror. The food was excellent and tbe staff was friemdly and helpful.

Had great time in Santai for 4 nights. We had ocean view bungalow and I loved watching the sea and fishermen nextdoor in the mornings while drinking morning tea. We eat at the hotel almost everyday and we really liked everything we had there. Thanks to the chef! The breakfast was really good and loved the dragon bowl smoothie. Staff was very helpful with everything and they arranged us everything we needed. All in all nice quiet area so easy to ride a motorbike there. Visited also the sister hotel Griya for their spa treatments and can highly recommend trying them out. They can arrange car ride for you to the other hotel when needed.

This is a lovely little hotel. Nice bungalows in a beautiful garden and a great pool. The people arehelpful and the restaurant is serving excellent food. The breakfasts are very special. They are served at your table .. no need to run around trying to find your eggs at a buffet. This is more civilized. The hotelis right on the beach and you can snorkel right there. I saw all kind of beautiful fish no more than 100 meters from the hotel. But .. the beaches here are not of the golden sand type. But rather grey pebbles.I stayed for three days and saw no reason to leave the hotel except for jumping into the sea to look at pretty fish. The hotel has everything you need. A great place to relax!

Heaven on earth. It had everything you can think of. For a layback hotels. All the details have been well thought. The little houses are very clean and comfortable. The staff very alert and nice. The food was excellent. Very relax place. You can snorkel right in front of the hotel. The desk can organize any tour or massage. Our only regret is that ee did not stay long enough.

Linen with hair and stains Room lock Brocken no one borthered to change it Ants in the bed (green ants they bite) Extra bed was a mattress on the floor No one tried to address any issue promptly and/or professionally We left after the first night Very unsafe for kids The hotel it’s old and very decadent The sea its amazing and worth a visit but stay in different hotel

Staying at Santai Hotel was very enjoyable and they were very helpful with booking activities. There were a few occasions were I felt the staff or the drivers took liberties to get extra money out of us. On one tour, the driver/ tour guide told us we needed to hire another tour guide to see rice fields. The description stated the guide would already be included, but had to pay extra when we got there. We also found out (the hard way) that the airport shuttle is not roundtrip as advertised and had to pay quite a bit more on check out. They would not talk about the confusion and insisted we pay. The trip was great, except for the ending suprise.

Ames is a quiet place, you sure can have a relaxation trip here. There are not much shops around, if you know how to ride a motorbike is much more convenient to travel around. The food in the hotel is good, you can join the gym at Griya which is free of charge! But you need to solve the transportation since the shuttle bus is not always available. The staff are helpful and friendly. We do enjoy the trip very much.

We found all hotel staff very friendly and attentive. Our room was initially pretty dark and they went in and changed the lights making it much brighter. Pool was nice and the food and drinks at the restaraunt were very good, the best we experienced in our trip to Bali.

We had the most wonderful stay at Santai for just one night. We were welcomed with cold drinks and towels by very friendly and helpful staff who spoke brilliant english. Our room was lovely a four poster bed with our own balcony, very private and rustic. The hotel is right on the beach and we enjoyed fantastic snorkelling in the area. The little touches the hotel added were lovely, like having fresh tea and coffee left out on our balcony in the morning before we went down to breakfast, and overall the food was fantastic too we had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Would really recommend this boutique hotel to anyone in the Amed area.

In the morning you wake up to coffee and tea waiting outside for you. It was so nice. The bed was conformable as well and the room was kept very clean. They arranged snorkelling for us which was awesome and so east to arrange with them. I cant say enough nice things about the staff. We unfortunately got into a pretty bad motorbike accident when we were there and the staff helped us out so much! Pena, a gentlemen that worked at the reception desk, really stood out. He went way above and beyond to help us out. I cant thank him enough for his incredible generosity. I dont know what I would have done without his help and the help of the other staff! We would stay here again in a second. I highly recommend!!

Hotel was fine, maybe a little overpriced. Very nice staff. Very good restaurant. Has a swimming pool. Room was nice, but staff never came by in the early evening to do mosquito mitigation. We got a lot of bites during the night.
