Very nice place. Quiet, comfortable, felt safe. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to rent scooter. Quick turnaround help with anything you need.

Amazing Amed

Great location with big rooms and a beautiful pool. The sounds of the sea and the sea view was amazing. The staff were lovely and we all shared lunch after my husband & I caught Mahi-Mahi that morning.

The shower was difficult- water pressure not good and was either boiling hot or cold. Very hard to find the balance

Great location and swimming pool

Lovely property in the heart of Ahmed. Amazing pool, right in front of the beach. The staff were lovely and kind. They served us free coffee and a snack by the pool in the late afternoon. Location is great, near to lots of great restaurants. The place is clean but a little dated in areas. Overall we had a lovely stay.

The bathrooms need urgently updating. And the rooms could be modernised too. If you don't mind old bathrooms, then the location and pool makes it a perfect choice.

Quiet and a little remote, but right on the beach so easy to go snorkelling. Great spot to watch the sunrise. Wonderful pool.

Not good

The sea view

I was sick when I arrived and I needed a medicine that was a struggle because the people were not willing to help me because they thought I am not staying at their place which was a weird, then later I needed to go to the hospital and here were transportation became a challenge and I had to pay 200k for very short distance but my arm was twisted, as a solo traveler that was one of the worst experiences.

Everything, the staff were amazing, made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. The breakfast was really nice and very generous. The location is amazing, right on the beach. We rented a scooter for a great price and that was a great way to explore.

A Slice of Paradise in Amed 🌴☀️ We had the most wonderful stay at Sunshine Bungalows – truly a hidden gem right on the beach. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff were so kind and attentive, making us feel completely at home. The food? Absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavourful, and prepared with so much love – we ended up eating there most days because it was just that good. Waking up to the sound of waves and enjoying breakfast with a view of the ocean was pure bliss. The beach is right at your doorstep – peaceful, uncrowded, and perfect for a morning swim or watching the sunrise. It felt like our own private haven. If we had to mention one tiny thing – the shower could’ve used a little more consistency. But honestly, with everything else being so perfect, it just became part of the island charm. We laughed it off and went back to enjoying paradise. Thank you to everyone at Sunshine Bungalows for making our time in Amed so special. We’ll definitely be back!

I'll be back !

Right on the beach with good snorkelling. Beautiful gardens, very nice pool and quiet setting in a fairly unspoiled part of Bali. . Lovely, friendly and accommodating staff: they remember your name and take you on their scooter to the nearest ATM to get cash out so you don't have to pay the 3% surcharge for paying by card! Really amazing restaurant, both breakfast (vegetable omelette highly recommended) and dinner.

It’s a gem. The location, the hospitality , and the fact that they offer free lessons ( culinary, hiking and massages). I have traveled a lot and this place was my favourite

Extraordinary beach location

Fabulous location on the beach. Excellent value for money. There was a flag marker that I swam out to most days and it was a good mini workout. Pool is beautiful. Delicious food. Friendly staff. One of the workers, Ninga will take you on an amazing 2hr hike for only 200k per person. He will also take you to other amazing places like the water palace and the beautiful local rice paddy fields as a separate trip. They also offer massage after 2pm. I highly recommend this hotel.

The music was very annoying. The staff and management know nothing about music and how annoying listening to the same track, loop or multiple ads is to some listeners. I begged them several times to please stop with the music. As the old saying goes: if you can’t do it properly don’t do it at all! The other thing is Bali has allowed extremely noisy motorbikes without mufflers to rule its streets. Starting at 5am these hoons race up and down the road in front of the local hotels and nobody can stop it. The noise is very loud. It’s not the fault of the hotels but they could band together and force these hoons to get their mufflers fixed so that the guests can live more comfortably . I suggest you bring ear plugs.

Lovely and peaceful place , I’d recommend this hotel to everyone.

Lovely place and very nice staff . Great snorkelling spot right infront of the hotel. Nice breakfast . ( pancake is actually a crépe - still tasty though ) Beach is very peaceful and has great sunrises . Location is good. There are 2 incredible restaurants nearby ( 10/15 mins walk on either side ) Galanga and blue Earth village which has vegan and vegetarian food which was a great bonus. They are a eco friendly hotel. they use bio degradable straws and glass bottles for their water and had basic shampoo and shower gel in built in containers . Bathroom is a bit shabby .. hardware all corroded .. the bed frame and wooden cabinets and lamps were dusty . Having said that the rooms were cleaned everyday nicely but they just missed those parts to clean . We had the lomi lomi massage which was okay .. we had the scrub after the massage which was unusual . Usually you do the body scrub first then the massage but maybe this is something different in this type of massage .The bathrobe that was given after massage was smelling of mould and damp . The girls who gave the massage were very polite and kind which made the experience good . Also a nice touch was the delicious smoothie after the massage. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone , it would be good if they improve these small aspects to make the stay better.

A home away from home!

Really enjoyed my stay, the staff were exceptional and made me feel at home! Would highly recommend and will be back soon! I would say the rooms/bathrooms could do with an update as they are quite old! Special shoutout to Mikey, he’s the guy to go to if you want to enjoy snorkelling and fishing and other water activities! They kindly offered free travel to Amed town centre on a scooter which was really helpful as Also it is quite a distance away from everything else in Amed an transport getting to and fro can be quite expensive, so that was really helpful of them.

I would say the rooms/bathrooms could do with an update as they are quite old!

Absolute beachfront paradise

Beautiful location, absolute beachfront ! Incredible staff who were so friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a gorgeous view over the sparkling pool out to the ocean. The snorkelling straight out the front of the hotel was fabulous! So many fish of many different kinds. We also swam with a turtle one morning. We ate most of our meals at the restaurant here as the prices were so reasonable and the variety good. Scooter hire is available and also massage services. We would definitely recommend this place and would certainly stay again 😀

Amed and this hotel surpassed our expectations, we will definitely be coming back.

We've never been made to feel more welcome in a hotel, the staff are very friendly. The location is also excellent, there is coral just off the beach behind the hotel, it's easy to walk into Amed or the bars on the Hill top for sundowners but it's quieter than Amed. It's easy and cheap to hire a scooter to visit the great snorkelling spots along the coast. The food was also very good and very reasonably priced, we ate at the hotel most nights. The staff were very helpful arranging transportation and taking us on local guided tours

Staff were so kind and helpful they made our stay awesome, could not fault them at all <3 Pool and leisure areas were gorgeous Right on the beach- we fell asleep to the sound of waves Bedroom was great, bed was massive! So huge it should get its own postcode!!!

Bathroom needs a refurb- bit old and grotty. Shower is difficult to use, either boiling hot or freezing cold, and low water pressure. My wife couldn't wash her hair.

This accommodation is exceptional for its location by the beach. After a few meters of swimming, you immediately see corals and many fish, turtles, and ninja shrimp under the water. You can snorkel all day and still see something new. The staff is very accommodating, friendly. The breakfasts are excellent. Beautiful clean pool. Beautiful tropical garden. The resort is small, but perfectly adequate. The journey from the hotel to Dempasar was also excellent. We had a stop at the rice fields. Beautiful Balinese nature in the rainy season.

In need of some maintenance, but still a lovely place to stay on the beach in Amed.

Staff were excellent, very friendly, very helpful! Location right on the beach in a spot with snorkeling just offshore. Blackout curtains ensured my room was dark enough I had two great nights of sleep.

I had great sleep here but I think that was maybe in spite of the bed, it was quite small which wasn’t a problem for my wife and I, and it was reasonably comfortable, but could have been better, maybe a bit old. The room seems in need of a facelift in general, but especially the bathroom. The bathroom was kind of gross, I’ve seen way worse in SEA but yea, not nice, and you’ll spend as much time playing with the shower to find the needle thin spot for the handle to be in that isn’t cold or scalding hot, as you will actually showering.

The location is stunning, but the owner needs to invest in a total renovation for me to come back.

The only reason I gave it a rating 6, ie. pleasant is that I loved the location and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I couldn't fault the people working there. The linen was clean and the facilities like the pool and the restaurant was clean too. The food was yummy and beautiful cooked. The beach is one of the cleaner ones (not as much floating rubbish as on other beaches) and it's amazing how you can snorkel straight from the beach. And Popcorn the cat is such a boss. I loved her company.

The room was awful as was the bathroom. No water pressure and the mixer was gone too. Either I had boiling hot or cold water. The shower, sink and toilet just terrible and not just old. The aircon was inconsistent and when sitting on the toilet the condensation was dripping on you. The bed was very uncomfortable. One could feel every spring of the mattress. The bed was far too big for the room. I had no wardrobe or dresser to put my clothes anywhere. A desk and chair was it. There was no mosquito net or any insect repellent device in the room or outside where the restaurant was. This is definitely needed during the more humid season. This is not what you want on a holiday where you feel uncomfortable and can't wait to get home to your own bed. I'd rather pay a bit more but have a comfortable stay. Won't come back if the facilities stay the way they are.

Superb

Very friendly personel. Can arrange a scooter, trips etc. They have coffee & Tea around 4pm. All kinds of activities where you participate. We made some home made gado gado and offerings. It's a cozy place. Great for chilling on the beach and pool. You will miss this place when you leave.

love the location and friendliness of staff. room was big and AC works great.

Staff was super awesome and realized it was my birthday from the copy of my passport, and made the entire stay extra special and even went out of there way to bring me a banana pancake with a candle and sang to me. room was great as well!
