Thank you so much for my stay. This hotel is safe and very clean. The access is easy and the room vas modern and the bathroom large, comfortable and very well equipped. I will come back for sure.

I rarely write reviews, but I want to warn people about this place before they fall victim. Be warned: staying here in the summer is a miserable experience. The rooms don't have air conditioning, which is not all that uncommon throughout the area. But they also don't have any screens on the windows to keep insects out. So if you open the windows to cool the room down, you invite in a host of bugs from the nearby lake. If you don't open the room up, the heat becomes stifling and unbearable. There isn't even a fan to circulate air in the room. Further, the staff is atrocious. I went to the front desk to ask if the attached restaurant was open, or would be opening soon. The man at the front desk, who was training a new staffer, barely bothered to look up and said "No" before returning to the training. When I asked if he knew of a nearby restaurant that was open, he didn't even bother to look up and just said "No" before turning his attention back to the new employee and ignoring me.

The place was exceptionally clean - almost like it was brand new. Bed was very comfortable. Nice spacious bath and shower area. Friendly, knowledgeable owner who spoke very good English. Ideal location for getting to Baden Baden. Tasty continental breakfast and catered for my partner's gluten free diet.Only minor disappointment was the "see", which was somewhat underwhelming.

Superb guest house, good breakfast, lovely location for lake but a bit of walk into town but wasn’t bad. The best room ever, it had a bug bed a lounge and coffee machine! Breakfast could have had a better cooked breakfast (like scrambled egg etc) but it was good.

Older hotel out of town from appenzell, narrow windy roads, not good for bikes or walking. Great hostess, good food, comfortable room with beautiful view.

Check-in was weird. Just had my key waiting at the desk to grab. No one was there to greet us. Made me feel like anyone could grab it. Room was super nice and modern. The "lake" in the photos was nice, but most people went down there to smoke. My biggest problem was our room was on the ground floor facing the parking lot so it was quite noisy with people talking right outside our window.

Amazing 2 room unit. Quiet. Panoramic view. Clean and perfectly adorned. Excellent bath with shower. Restaurant was terrific with Romanian chef. Friendly locals. Perfect evening and then breakfast was superb.
