This was the next to last stop on a 2 week road trip to northern France.....Loire Valley, land of castles and chateaux. After much research, my husband found this gem next to the river. We stayed in one of the original buildings that had been modernized, but still had charm and character of the past with exposed, rustic beams and plaster work. The restaurant/bistro was modern with indoor/outdoor dining, a diverse French menu and excellent wine list. The staff was well versed, efficient and very friendly.

The hotel is on a busy road and opposite a train station. It does not have air conditioning so we had to sleep with windows open. Which is not a problem but the noise from the cars on the road was so loud that I couldn't sleep properly during my stay.

Lovely stay in La Caillere. The real bonus is the restaurant which is absolutely superb and very reasonably priced for the standard. Also all the staff are fantastic!

La Caillere is a great hotel to stop if you are touring the Loire castles. The garden is a great place to relax and unwind. They even have a playground for kids. In the evening you can dine outside on the terrasse sampling their degustation menus. Good quality and fresh food with an extensive carte de vins .

First time staying here and hopefully will not be the last. Room was comfortable and clean. The real treat,however, is the restaurant. Fantastic. Unfortunately, it was not open ecery night but there were plenty of places to eat within a few kilometres. The hotel is well situated for visiting the area.

Very comfortable stay in a Character room (the mid Quality level of 3), with modern bathroom and shower facilities, comfortable firm mattress. However, The standouts at this property are the high level of service from the owners and the gastronomique restaurant. The food quality and presentation are outstanding - far and away the best restaurant in the area. The property is also conveniently located for touring many of the Loire Chateaux and Wineries.

Really good. We were motorcycling down to the South of France. We arrived at 10 pm. The staff are really welcoming and friendly. Food was provided in our room at very reasonable cost. The room was really well appointed and the wile atmosphere of the hotel was peaceful. A very good breakfast set us up for the rest of the day. We would recommend the hotel.

We were expecting to stay in a comfortable hotel with a large garden to relax in. We had a family room, which consisted of nothing more than a double bed, a sofa with cushions on it and one chair. The facilities were limited and the television was strangely placed above the sofa/ other bed. There was some refurbished rooms, but we were in an older room and charged the same price. We had an evening meal ( which was part of the restaurant and was excellent) and breakfast and at both sittings there flies in the dining room. On a positive note, the receptionist, was very attentive and helpful, but seemed to be doing everything.

Stayed only one night after arriving in France. Could easily have added a night or two. Good service, comfortable room, nice location at the fringe of a small community that's located in a park-like setting. It is small, so not many choices for dining etc. without driving several kilometres, but the stay was enjoyable.
