Cleveland House is perfect for those who want the experience of a bed and breakfast without all of the high-end luxury amenities. First the sheets and towels were top of the line… Fine Linen. Wonderful!. The rooms were clean. The stairs are standard 19th century very narrow very steep and quite squeaky with floral carpet. No elevator! Common areas are cluttered. But the staff was top-notch and helpful and kind. As a solo traveler it was safe. Location is perfect to walk around downtown Newport. Waking up or surrounded by Jomes built in the 1700s and getting the feel of the narrow streets and pitched rooftops - that is priceless!

The room was very small even for an Inn. We expected to stay in one of the rooms in the main building that were shown on the website. We were put in another building and a smaller room. We stayed 2 nights and no maid service.
