Wonderful location and ambience. Satisfactory brekfast. Room comofrtable. Problems: staff helpful but spoke only limited Englis; room had frosted widows that blocked any view, a a real shortfall.

The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The historical past of the building is evident in its grandeur. We felt like VIPs instead of simply tourists. The breakfast included a good variety of western and eastern tastes. The surrounding neighborhood contained an exciting mix of Shanghai's colonial history and the new, burgeoning China. The only downside to the location is that it's not close to neither the highspeed train station nor the airport. But this inconvenience was easily forgiven once walked around the community.
