Rooms were nice and service was great. The place is very beautiful and tranquil. We had a ironing board delivered to our suite but then when we left for dinner, some staff had came back to our room unannounced, and without telling us took the ironing board and iron and moved some of the bedding around. We mentioned this to the manager when we checked out, but it made us incredibly uncomfortable and I don’t know if we would stay there again because of that instance. I hope management will notify future guests if they intend to enter their suites at any point during their stay, whether it be part of their service offerings or not.

From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in genuine warmth and welcome, making us feel exceptionally cherished. The hotel established on a heritage site is nothing short of epic. Every detail, from the architecture to meticulously designed interiors, spoke of unparalleled luxury and comfort. We truly couldn't have wished for more. Recent refurbishments are clearly "next level," seamlessly blending modern elegance with the hotel's inherent charm. The environment, both indoors and out, was absolutely beautiful, offering a serene and picturesque backdrop. And the food? Absolutely "on point." Each meal was a culinary delight, a testament to exceptional quality and exquisite taste. It's rare to find a hotel where every dining aspect is so consistently outstanding.For anyone with discerning taste seeking royal treatment, we wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. A beautiful property in a peaceful setting, great restaurants on site and the opportunity to taste their wines too! Take a walk around the grounds on the signposted walking trail. I would highly recommend this hotel, could not be happier with our choice.

It was with incredulity that we were allocated a room, next to the workers rest facilities/restaurant, and with a view of a wall and hedge. The Mountain View room we booked had not been kept for us. The next room we were given was of a hedge. Disappointingly, this room did not have “ tranquil werf on their entrance doorstep and private terraces with spectacular unimpeded views of the mountains across the vines or meandering greens” This is misrepresentation, as are the misleading photographs of a spectacular pool that it transpires - is not available to guests staying in our rooms. We are only allowed access to the small pool at the Spa. This is not exclusive as this is for the use of anyone using the Spa. Yesterday, there were no seats left when we looked in. It is unconscionable that they continue to deliberately mislead potential guests. What you do offer is interrupted views of Pollsmore Prison

We booked to stay for the night at the end of a 10 day holiday in SA. It was the perfect ending to our vacation: the hotel is gorgeous, the rooms tastefully and luxuriously furnished, the staff attentive, and the grounds beautifully maintained. The pool area is also a quiet oasis. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Steenberg is a beautiful winery with lovely accommodation and great staff. You get a free wine tasting as well. There are 2 on site restaurants - Tryn and Bistro Sixteen82. Tryn is more catered to a fine dining feel, but we felt the Bistro was the better restaurant, for lunch or dinner, but still recommend both. The rooms are large and attention to detail is great, but there was a little bit of noise from the next door room (nothing over the top, but just something that they could look to imrpove). Also, the tin roof cracks and creaks with changes in twmperature through the day. Having said that, we would definitely return and definitely recommend it. The spa is also lovely and very reasonable! And finally, the vineyards themselves are truly stunning and the walking trail through and around them is highly recommended! The staff were also absolutely fantastic and would do anything for you!

Excellent overall, beautiful grounds, luxury service, perfect location away from the city but not too far to get there easily. The only negative was the excessive monetization of every single thing there, serving as a constant reminder that guests are there to be exploited rather than helped to relax. Our arrival was spoiled by the immediate demand that we pay for everything in advance, and everything we requested or used thereafter was charged, sometimes without warning or explanation. It's luxury, but with an upcharge on every single thing, even basic courtesies.

This is a very special place, rare in actual fact. Everything about this hotel and it’s staff is exceptional. It’s a tranquil haven of the highest standard. The location, decor, surroundings, immaculate gardens and food are all incredible, but such a place can not be this outstanding with the amazing staff. The hospitality is like no other. Wonderful two night stay at this gorgeous hotel. Friendly staff who will go over and above to ensure you have a wonderful stay, beautiful property, delicious wines we will try come back every year. The only minor negative feed back is that the spa is by the main entrance to the hotel so could hear cars driving by while having a massage.

Beautiful landscaping. Everything is great, awesome bistro on property, except: (1) no pool heater / pool was freezing 21 degrees C, (2) the mattresses were SO HARD, and (3) the TV in the rooms are tiny, like 32" or something. Otherwise, it was an amazing place
