The Charles Bridge Palace Hotel is in the perfect location of Prague 1 neighborhood. Close to everything: Charles Bridge, the Tram lines, the main square with the Clock. Walking distance to everything. This hotel made our visit very enjoyable. We felt like we were at the heart of the city. Can't wait for our next visit!

I chose Charles Bridge Hotel for its name and location, but the experience was utterly disappointing. Yes, the hotel has history, but that also means it’s genuinely old—old enough to have mold, bacteria, and strange smells. On top of that, there was zero service to speak of. I stayed for just one night, and here’s what happened: I was assigned Room ***, which turned out to be an interior room with a window facing the hallway. I immediately went downstairs to request a room change. The front desk informed me that I had booked an economy room, the hotel was fully occupied, and if I wanted to change, I’d have to pay extra. I asked why the booking website didn’t mention the interior window and why I should pay extra for that. Their response was, "Third-party websites often have inaccurate information. You should have booked through our official website." The Wi-Fi password on the key card they gave me was incorrect. When I told the front desk, they said, "You should have come down to ask, and we would have helped you." Hahaha, I’m laughing my head off! It’s always the customer’s fault: you booked an economy room, you should have booked on the official website, you should have come down to ask for the Wi-Fi password. They have no issues at all—shifting responsibility flawlessly. And remember, it wasn’t just one staff member; several of them acted the same way. Now, let me tell you this: First, Room *** is utterly unsuitable as a guest room. The soundproofing is terrible, the curtains let light through, and it feels like you’re staying in the hallway! You can clearly hear the elevator doors opening and people walking past in the hallway. The lights are bright, and staying here for even one night was pure torture—I couldn’t sleep at all! If you’re so determined to make money without a conscience, at least spend a little on soundproof windows, blackout curtains, and some decent air freshener to mask the moldy smell. Second, the information on the key card you gave me was wrong. It’s your responsibility to update the card information, not waste customers’ time and energy by telling them, "You should come down to ask, and we’ll help you." Third, booking through third-party websites is the most convenient way for tourists. Otherwise, who would even know about your lousy hotel? Booking on your official website? Where does that confidence come from? Clearly stating room details is your responsibility and obligation—stop shifting the blame to third parties. Finally, there’s no excuse for treating customers differently. Addressing reasonable customer needs and ensuring satisfaction is the basics of the service industry. A simple "sorry" is more sincere than a long-winded excuse. Improve your service standards! I will never recommend this place. Seriously, don’t book here. If I weren’t traveling with my child and didn’t want to ruin the trip, I would have insisted on checking out and fighting this to the end. This is arguably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Do not book here—whoever does will regret it. And remember, according to them, it’s always your fault.
