The hotel and the town are fairy tale ish!
No lifts but the staff is so kind and helpful- they help carry your luggage up and back down

We booked the hotel, which is more expensive compared to many alternatives because we liked the charm and wanted the experience.
The booking stated it was a “comfort studio”.
On arrival we were told that the “comfort studio” is in another building, which turned out to be a studio in an apartment building some 100m from the hotel. This was not indicated in the booking.
To our disappointment the lady at the reception told us that the only available room is a suite and we will need to pay another *** per night if we wanted to stay in the hotel, which is already in the highest price range compared to other hotels in the city centre.
We refused and were brought to the studio, which albeit nice, was basically a glorified apartment rental in an apartment building for the price of a nice hotel (this was “room ***”).
While the hotel itself is very nice and the breakfast fantastic, sleeping in the studio for that price is really not worth it.
On our departure next day I reiterated our disappointment, and the gentleman at the reception was fast to point out that “now we are fully booked, I don’t know what you were told, but we would have put you in the hotel if it were not the case. And anyway the studio is not that far, is it?”
Not only he missed the point, but the day before it was possible for an extra fee.
If I knew, I would have booked a different hotel for half the price.
Careful what you book, so that you don’t end up with an overpriced studio in an apartment building or just book somewhere else.

Rothenburg is Amazing.
Herrnscholsschen hotel is a perfect place to stay.
Super friendly and helpful staff.
Great spacious room with comfortable bed overlooking an historic church.
The bathroom was fantastic.
The breakfast was served outside in a quaint garden setting.

Well located hotel and ease for parking for those who drove. Stayed for 3 nights and really enjoy the hospitality. Superb breakfast and friendly staff. Didn't have a chance to tried their Michelin dinner as it was winter time.
