Lavender Cottage

A lovely little cottage with extras that make your stay easier! The hot tub and the games room were a massive hit!! The garden is lovely and big too and it was great to have your own private parking! We were over visiting family in the area so will definitely be back! The kids are missing it already!! Thanks for a great stay! :)

There were a couple of banged heads (mainly myself) but we are a tall family! The low door frames and ceilings wouldn't put me off coming back though as this is what makes the property! Also the stairs wouldn't be suitable for everyone but we quite liked them!

The additional features of a hot tub and games room make this property a nice place to stay!

The stairs are very steep and narrow.

The cottage is lovely, cosy and very quaint. The garden is the real beauty of the place and the hot tub is a nice bonus. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom and shower were very good. The annex bedroom was probably the nicest room but my daughter stole that one ☺️

I didn't realise from the photos quite how bad the stairs would be. Actually rather dangerous. The cottage itself is very small and my son and husband kept banging their heads on the doorframes and ceiling in the twin bedroom. None of this was mentioned in the info when booking. The property is dog friendly but they aren't allowed upstairs (probably just as well as stairs are so dangerous) or on the furniture. Can you really say a place is dog friendly if they are just allowed on the floor. The garden was lovely but could probably do with proper fencing as the neighbours dog wasn't happy to see us and the neighbours kept having to call him inside.

No extra charges for having dogs.

The details about the property are economical with the truth. They do not state that the staircase to the 2 bedrooms in the house has very narrow treads which present a considerable risk when descending or that the staircase is probably inaccessible to the physically challenged. Indeed, I think the staircase would not satisfy current building regs. They do not state that the 3rd bedroom is in a converted building on the far side of the yard, without any water or toilet, so requiring occupants to cross the yard into the house in the middle of the night, if they need to visit the bathroom. The keys for this 3rd bedroom are not labelled, so we had difficulty locating it. The mattress on the double bed is far too soft. There is no provision to make coffee, other than instant. The doorways are very low. A knob on the electric hob is broken. We would not have booked, had we read the reviews beforehand.
