Situated in the centre of Stroud, Market Lodge is just a five minute walk from the famous ‘Farmers Market’ as well as a variety of shops and restaurants.

This cottage is also just a ten minute walk from Stroud train station.

Market lodge is a private property with no shared spaces whatsoever:

Cosy lounge area including log burner fire, 50” Smart TV with Sky TV channels, comfortable lounge furniture, board games, books and DVD’s.

Kitchen/Dining Area:
Well appointment newly installed kitchen suite with induction hob, electric oven, built in fridge and dishwasher. Dining table for 4 plus breakfast bar.

Bedroom 1:
Paneled room, Cosy Double Bed, dressing table, 32inch smart TV with sky channels, day chair, clothes storage and rail

Bedroom 2:
Master Bedroom, King Size Bed, 42inch smart TV with sky channels, day chair, suitcase storage and clothes storage, garden view, luxury dog bed

Garden:
Private garden with patio furniture and wooden seating hut

There is free on street parking, however, during busier periods, there is parking on alternative streets close by, and a public car park approximately 3 minutes away by car (12 minute walk)

We enjoyed our week in Stroud but did not find this cottage very comfortable. (We are frequent users of holiday rentals). The current layout and furnishings make this cottage suitable for 3 people rather than 4 guests as advertised. The second bedroom has a very small double bed surrounded on three sides by walls and therefore very difficult for 2 people to use. The sitting area has a large two seater sofa and one armchair - again perfectly comfortable for 3 but not four guests especially so if watching TV together. Potential guests are also advised that the shower requires adopting a crouching position if you are of above average height and the bath being positioned on a narrow platform beneath a very low sloping ceiling requires a certain level of agility to use safely. We were amused at the provision of numerous cook books when there is no food preparation area in the otherwise well equipped kitchen. However, the rental cost compares very unfavourably with that of other accommodation we have used in recent times.

This is a delightful little house with all the conveniences, close to town, good restaurants and the railway station. Maybe not so good for people with mobility issues because of the stairs up to the bedrooms and bathroom. Comfortable and clean.

What an amazing cottage. The attention to detail was flawless. The whole cottage was beautifully and tastefully decorated with every little detail thought of. Beds were very comfortable and bath tub with the bath salts was luxurious. Spoilt for choice with sitting areas. The outdoor area is charming and very peaceful. Loved all the decor. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you need and a cupboard with some very handy supplies. We loved our stay and would love to return again. Just amazing. Pure heaven. Thank you so much.

Loved my stay at the Market Lodge. Dom was very communicative and met every need. The location was great (just a 5 minute walk to High Street). It’s a lovely, cozy lodge and was perfect for my sabbatical! I look forward to another stay in the future!

Loved this cottage and my stay in Stroud. Dominic answered all my questions before arriving and even checked in once I arrived. The cottage was close to tow and an easy walk. The cottage did not lack for anything. Thoroughly enjoyed my time.

The cottage was handy while we were visiting the Badminton Horse Trails, well appointed cottage which had everything we needed. What a great part of the country.

What a great place. Cozy, snug, beautifully appointed. It’s small, but space is used so perfectly that it’s not a problem - in fact it just adds to the character and coziness. It’s also minutes walk into the town centre, but better for us it was minutes to the canal path and the great walks along it. And when they say “dog friendly” they really mean it. Treats left, a fantastic bed space etc. What a great find.

Thank you for a lovely break. We booked this for the proximity of different attractions. The footage itself although old is very well decorated and thought off modern amenities. We had a lovely time especially sitting and spending time in the garden The decorations and the book were specifically my favourite. Thank you for a stocked up kitchen and lovely bath 5* for looking after your guests so well

Lovely characterful cottage in a great location for central Stroud. Market Lodge is a lovely charaterful cottage in a great location and is ideal for a couple or small family. The property has everything you need for a home away from home for a few days. Really impressed with the standard of kitchen and a great range of appliances i.e coffee machine, ice machine, microwave etc. There are some great little touches i.e interesting books to read, family videos etc. There was also detailed information about the area and the cottage facilities. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels. All in all we had a great stay and it was just perfect for for where we wanted to be. There were a couple of things that I would point out to the owner if he is interested but overall I would definitely recommend the cottage.
