Characterful and comfortable

Very quirky. We loved the concept and the attention to detail in the place is something to note.

We could hear the other guests talking and walking in the public spaces, even when they were downstairs. Maybe the room we stayed in would benefit from some sound insulation.

Lovely stay

The location was very nice. It is a small town but close to many places mostly by car. The hosts were very responsive and kind. The atmosphere was good. The living room which is shared with other guests and rooms were cosy. The kitchen was well equipt. The decoration of the hotel was amazing. There are some roosters around so it was lovely to hear the animals, birds and roosters in the morning.

There was a slight smell in the room, presumably coming from the drain of the shower. I didnt even think about mentioning it to the hosts. I am sure if i did, they would take care of it.

‘Sharing’ concept, quiet basic location

Our family was not so happy with this location/ stay

We had 2 rooms: ‘op der gaen’ and ‘stairway to haeven’. If you come with suitcases and a dog, it is not easy to bring this up to the room as we found it to be really small. The room ‘op der gaen’ had no closet or chair and we had to leave our suitcase in the bathroom and our clothes on a small hook. Our (small) dog could only sleep in the bathroom as we needed to crawl in and out the small bed - however when taking a shower we had to take his bed out otherwise it would become wet. The rooms where hot: there was a mobile airco but that needed to be installed by hanging a tube out of the window (and as we where afraid of the nightly moskito’s, we could not use that in the night). The concept leaves no room for a small coffee machine or fridge in the room so all is downstairs in a common/shared living room with other guests. In our case the other guests were cooking for example with quite some garlic and if you don’t like that, you cannot hide from the smell. Or when you want to have breakfast as a family, and others are already in the dining area (and in our situation- using the entire place as if it belonged to them) you have to wait or go somewhere else. In Beaufort itself it is very quiet and we missed some nice restaurants. All in all, very basic and if you like theme concept rooms, and sharing aspace and are traveling light, this might be your location. Rooms where clean and communication via mail was friendly.

I am sure the owners ment to create something special but missed the boat somewhere. add a not well cleaned surrounding

the location was good, right on the trail and close to the caste and restaurants

taste is something we can discuss but the room was only superficial clean and spider rags where all over and it all looked a bit like it wasn’t used fir a long time. next to that the bathroom was strange with a small mirror and a sort of shower cave without light, a good shower installation and space to leave your stuff like hairbrush, toothpaste etc. in the cave you needed to keep the shower head in your hand as it could not be attached to anything, which is not very comfortable. furthermore the water pressure was very hard and uncomfortable. In the bed room the bed was placed to the back wall so that the person lying to the wall needed to climb over the person next to him/her to get out of bed. Not handy if that person has to go the toilet at night. I could go on. it’s a shame as the space is ok and the decoration funny. Be ware of this before you book.

Escapism at it's finest

We got to stay at the "Man cave". The room is big, well designed and with all facilities you would need (kitchen with microwave, cooking equipment, fridge, coffee maker; bathroom, upstairs bedroom). A lot of thought has been put into the interior design of the room which was very nice to see! The property as a whole has an old school vibe that is very cool!

The only negative part is that, because it is an old property (renovated but the walls had to be kept I think), it was quite cold inside (we stayed there in February). We had small heaters but you should still bring a pair of warms socks and long pyjamas if you plan on staying there during the winter months.

Superb

I'm a fan, had the high green room. Stairs are steep but well worth for the attic room: skylights, stone floor like a foot massage. Despite appearance, most comfortable bed in 2 months. Very quiet and peaceful. Window seats in common area. Decor is unique and fun. Near bus stop. Not long walk to Castle- especially enjoyed the Renaissance Beaufort Castle tour.

A unique gîte where ultimate comfort meets adventure

We’ve had a fabulous stay at Tailor’s Trail gîte, a unique experience! A lot of attention has been paid to the decoration, you keep surprising yourself in your room but also in the common areas of the house. Every time you make a new discovery. At the same time there are enough cosy spots to relax. The kids also loved the gîte! The hospitality of the team working for this location really ensures that you lack nothing further and you can fully enjoy yourself! The area around the house is great for hiking. We will definitely come back!!

it was an absolutely wonderful stay here! I loved the personal touches, the comfi bed & nice shower, the original, adventurous and inspiring set-up, complete information about the room before, the philosophy of bringing people together in a big house with so many little cosy corners to sit and read one of the many books, the beautiful art all around, the garden, and the very personal contact with the lady of the house Mayke during my stay…Thanks so much for everything, we will definitely be back!

Was mir nicht gefalle hat,war als wir ankamen ,es im Zimmer sehr kalt war.Den Gastgeber haben wir überhaupt nicht gesehen.Wir hatten eine email bekommen,dass wir das Auto nicht vor die Tür abstellen sollten.Die anderen Gäste hat das nicht gekümmert.Die haben ihr Auto vor die Tür abgestellt.Morgens haben die anderen Gäste schon um 07:30 laute Musik gehört.Das geht überhaupt nicht.

Helemaal niet verkeerd maar zoek de juiste kamer uit

Nette accommodatie, goede communicatie. Ziet er gezellig uit. Schoon en hygiënisch.

Wij kwamen voor een vrienden weekend. Na een beetje gezoek de kamer gevonden. Leuk voor een verliefd stelletje maar in onze situatie iets te close. Oncomfortabel bed, beide met rugklachten naar huis, en als vrienden te weinig eigen plek. Ik hoef hem niet te zien douchen en andersom ook niet. Dit hadden we tijdens de boeking niet duidelijk. Het parkeren kan ook een dingetje zijn. De zwaar geïrriteerde buurman geeft weinig tolerantie.

Voor wie geen hotelkamer zoekt, maar een sfeervolle accommodatie in een prachtige wandelomgeving.

Prachtige sfeervolle accommodatie met oog voor details. Het contact met de eigenaar verliep erg goed. Voor een paar dagen wandelen in de mooie omgeving, zou ik zeker deze accommodatie aanbevelen. Met als extra een heerlijke sauna als beloning na een intensieve wandel dag.

Anders dan de verwachting

Het was een schoon appartement en de gastvrouw was erg aardig.

Het was in mijn optiek een stuk kleiner als op de foto's lijkt. Er was geen echte douche maar alleen een bad waarbij je de douche zou kunnen vasthouden. Verder liep hier het plafond schuin af waardoor er erg weinig ruimte was. Verder leek een groot deel van het meubilair oud en aan vervanging toe. De stoelen kraakte ontzettend net als het bed en de trap.

Logement pas adapté pour les personnes d’âge mûr, grandes et corpulentes, surtout pas la chambre vers le ciel !!! (Celle qui nous était attribuée). Mansardée. On peut à peine se tenir debout, exiguë, lit encastré, douche sous pente du toit, escalier d’accès hyper vertical « en mode escalade ». En résumé, réservé aux jeunes, de petites tailles et sportifs en mode « peace and love »

Man's cave- vooral niet boeken

De locatie is fijn omdat je snel bij de mullertrail bent. Ook een bushalte bijna voor de deur. Parkeren in de buurt was ook ok. Gezamenlijke woonkamer, keuken en tuin ok maar dan dus geen privacy.

Ik zat in de man's cave. Weet niet hoe de andere appartementen zijn maar deze is verschrikkelijk. Geen ventilatie mogelijk tenzij je de deur open zet. Je moet boven slapen en daar staat ook een bankje maar dan zit je dus op een helemaal dicht zoldertje, veel te heet, er is een airco maar die maakt mega veel lawaai. Bedden super zacht dus slapen ging niet bepaald goed. Toilet beneden, dan over een ijzeren trap dus naar beneden op je blote voeten. Groot stofnest. Veel spinnenwebben, gordijnen en rolgordijnen. Geen douche!! Alleen een soort cave van steentjes waar je dan in moet gaan zitten. Helemaal donker, niet schoon te maken... wat ook niet wordt gedaan naar mijn idee. Te kleine wasbak. Wel een föhn maar geen stopcontact... Boven hangt het van verlengkabels aan elkaar. En ga zo nog maar een tijdje door. Het is een vies hok. Echt een hok dat ze over hadden en wilden verhuren of zo. Absoluut niet te verhuren.
