Il Fico di Cortona

The property was quiet and well situated for the supermarkets and Cortona. A drive was about 15 minutes and parking was tricky close to Cortona. There is a car park outside and about 10 minutes walk. The walk up to Cortona is lovely , but steep, so if you are unfit forget it.

The Mosquitos, but that is everywhere and specific to the property

We stayed for 9 nights in Sept 2022. It was the perfect place to stay as our home base, for our tour of Tuscany. Sonia's lovely house is in the town of Camucia ,on a pretty hillside in a residential area. The train station is 1 km away so it was an easy trip to Florence by train and there is a mini bus up the hill to Cortona every hour. In Camucia, Il fico di Cortona, is a short walk to a lovely restaurant and a grocery store is within 1 km . It is a quick drive to Camucia's town center with other restaurants and shops and easy access to highways. The house is very clean and well supplied with everything . The air conditioning, WiFi and TV were great and there is a dishwasher, washer, iron and hair dryer too. This lovely 2 bedroom house has a wonderful little kitchen and a big bathroom with a big shower and separate bathtub. There is a patio to sit outside and a BBQ. We had easy parking for our car next to the house on a quiet street. Sonia is a wonderful host and was always available if we needed anything. Sonia speaks very good English too . We loved our stay and would highly recommend Il Fico di Cortona to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Tuscany .

We loved everything, but anyone with mobility issues should know that the stairs up to the washroom and one of the bedrooms are relatively steep.

Beautiful stone building , lovingly restored but with all modern comforts, a charming place to stay. Our host Sonia had thought of everything. It was a joy to relax in the garden surrounded by fig and olive trees. Wonderful!
