The owner gave a very friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Despite our late arrival, we were immediately offered a cup of tea and, when we explained that we were going out again to find food, the owner gave us a menu for dinner.
This was a comprehensive menu, not just snacks, and we chose a spaghetti bolognaise, for which there was an additional payment added to the cost of the room and breakfast.
We were taken up to our lovely room and had everything explained to us. By the time we came down, our meal was ready and it was obviously home-made and it was delicious - no supermarket fodder here!!
A lovely, comfortable night followed - a wonderful duvet and heavy-weight duvet cover (without being too heavy or hot) that stayed in place, despite a normally restless sleeper, helped a lot.
A full-English Breakfast - available as an extra - was definitely worth it, with lots of options. Otherwise the choice was cereals, toast, home-made preserves and pastries and, of course, juices and teas and coffees.
Altogether, a very comfortable stay and we will go there again.
The Manor House also serves teas and lunches - Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays and, I think, Bank Holidays.
Worth checking it out.
