This historic building has it all, great history and its current custodians are very knowledgeable about its history, linked to the Magna Carta

Made to feel do welcome and had a lovely cup of tea on arrival. Fluer and will were exceptional hosts, so friendly, and May the dog I could have bought her home. The room was so cosy and warm and the bed was so comfy the best sleep I have had in a long time. Breakfasts were so good and so much to choose from. The manor had so much history
We can't wait to come back.

Very Rustic ancient property. The hosts were very welcoming and forthcoming with the history of this home. Food was excellent overall, and the breakfast was superb. Parking was ample for our 2 motorcycles. The property is located in a very charming village with very friendly residents.

The Manor House is steeped in history, and the owners are proud custodians of that history. It is the most fascinating B&B in which we have stayed. Our hosts were very friendly and very helpful. They also do an excellent and unusual range of jams and preserves. Would happily stay here again and thoroughly recommended.
The bathroom wasn't en-suite (right next to the bedroom so hardly a great problem, and the only downside of being in a Grade II* listed building where there is a limit to the number and type of changes that can be made to a building).

This is a very old building with nice people running a bnb.
It would be nice to be able to see a bit more of the manor.

Perfect hosts, Fleur and Will, were extremely knowledgeable about the history of the house and local area. This hotel is wonderful for a laid-back stay. The house is beautiful and the courtyard exceptionally pretty. Planting in the garden is traditional English countryside in style. The whole feeling of our stay was relaxed and grown-up. We had supper outside - the food was home-made and utterly delicious. Breakfast included a huge tray of homemade jams, some very unusual flavours. Honesty bar had a good array of ice-cold drinks and snacks at very reasonable hotel prices. Fleur showed us the art exhibition in the great hall of the house. Wonderful! I would urge anyone needing a traditional ‘English-heritage-style’ experience to book The Manor House. We loved it.
Just something to note: pack your pyjamas, as the private bathrooms are not en-suite!

Lovely property with lots of character and an original feel. I stayed here for one night on the way to next stop. Staff were lovely and very attentive.

Fleur and her son William were exceptional nothing was too much trouble. Such a beautiful place and location. A lovely pot of tea in the courtyard upon arrival after travelling for many hours was just what I needed.
Nothing it was perfect.

Great location in a small quiet village. Room was a good size with a comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast had a good range. Bathroom was exceptional - separate bath and shower, spacious and powerful shower, good size bath.
Service at breakfast could have been better, for example, items were 'plonked' on our plates, cupboard doors slammed etc.

Lovely quirky b&b. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. Lovely room, comfortable beds in a quiet and beautiful location. All the available extras, drinks, toiletries, cakes, etc were a surprise and very welcome.
Price was a little bit high for a room with no en-suite. We didn’t realise that evening meals were available when we booked. We only found out when we arrived and had the evening meal which was very tasty and good value. Maybe they are missing a trick by not publicising their evening meal service a little more.

Cereal, toast, etc provided, but extra for cooked breakfast.
Bed comfortable. Beautifull village location with lots of history.
The local pub had closed, so the host provided dinner which was delicious.
We needed to know that dinner would be offered and that we needed to pay by cash or cheque, as we do not normally carry much cash. The village is hoping that the pub will be sold and provide the option for food again.

Evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Vey friendly and non-corporate. Lovely building.
The bunk room was very small, no room for a chair- ok for one night and the price reflected this.

Beautiful building and location!
The room was their budget room, but it really was tiny! I am short and struggled getting in and out of the bunk bed. The shared bathroom has a huge window with no blinds that makes you feel very exposed getting in and out of the shower.

Everything was fabulous. Fleur was the perfect hostess, very knowledgable about the history of the area. breakfast and dinner were great, nothing was too much trouble-they even did our washing for us. A wonderful area to walk around and will definitely recommend to all.

The breakfast was fine. We accepted the option of not having a cooked breakfast, but the warm croissant was very welcome.
We really enjoyed the company of the other guests - the Dutchman who was traveling by bike towards Exmoor and the Antique dealer who was visiting shops in the West Country. Last night we had a good pub dinner at The Hatch which is nearby. The room was comfortable. The Manor house is querky. The owner gave us a lovely welcome and we really enjoyed our stay.
The bathroom was not 'en suite' which was a little awkward as you had to share the corridor with others.

Breakfast was continental with freshly made croissants and home-made jams available or cooked breakfast with locally sourced ingredients - absolutely delicious. The owner Fleur and her son Will made me feel extremely welcome and were very knowledgable about the area and what to do on day-out trips. Home-made cream teas could be requested at any time and my hosts would accommodate almost any request as far as meals were concerned. The taste of the meals was simply superb. This hotel offered everything I wanted - peace, tranquility, beautiful scenery, comfortable room and the almost magical experience of staying in a 500 or so year old house, with a history dating back to Roman times. A definite must-stay for anyone wanting to avoid a bland corporate scene.
I liked it exactly as presented and the stay offered no less than expected. The attentiveness of my hosts was a stand-out feature of my stay.

Good parking, peaceful location and excellent night's sleep on highly comfortable bed. The hosts were very friendly, knowledgeable and always available. They offered tea on arrival after our long journey and later a menu of lovely home-made dinner and desserts (which was real surprise).
Everything was just right for us.

Hosts very welcoming and friendly. Super breakfast. Lovely, comfortable communal areas.
Wonderful historical house -- some parts dating from 14C. Lovely garden, befitting the Manor House!
Wasn't keen on idea of shared bathroom, but it was fine when there.

Characterful property
Did not expect the bunk room to be the size of a cupboard! Nowhere to relax other than sit on the public landing due to size of room. Squeezed a wooden chair in that was subsequently removed by host and returned to the landing. Also each day although the host changed a bottle of drinking water next to kettle, all other used cups etc were left dirty for my 4 day stay, carpet not hoovered daily which meant the room felt terribly dirty 2 days into my stay. Also the spare key used by the host was left outside my room whilst I was out for the day. Also had to purchase hot water bottle as so cold. Obviously the price reflected the breakfast but I wasn’t aware it wasn’t a cooked breakfast on booking.
Was relieved to get home!
