A magical stay for Solstice 2025.

Self catering holiday properties can feel a bit worn and tired. This isn’t surprising because of weight of footfall they must experience however, Little Barn felt fresh and as though it had been prepared just for us and so was special This sense was underlined by the comprehensive kitchen equipment (we cooked for ourselves) and the generous garden space, which we used to full advantage being lucky enough to coincide our visit with a heatwave. It is also in a fabulous location for history, birding, gardens and the glorious Somerset wetlands. The Quantocks are a step away and the Dorset border another step in the other direction. Glastonbury is close by though we kept a respectful distance as the Festival was nigh! Our visit encompassed the Summer Solstice. So we spent it in the very heartlands of that magic. Elspeth is a lovely, kind host too. Not at all visible, unless you need her.

It was like announced, private, much space, comfy, very good kitchen, clean and welcoming. The hosts where very helpful and supporting. Can imagine to return when it is warm enough to use the outside facilities!

Arriving late it is not so easy to find the right place and the key pot.

Pleasant Stay.

Private entrance and garden. Detached Barn just behind the main house. Very clean and quite spacious for two people. Warm and cosy. Good location off the main road if you like quite surroundings. Attentive host.

Bed weren't that comfortable and pillows were lifeless. No extra towels and bathmats for 6 nights duration of our stay ( unhygienic) and host not allowed us to wash the towels for whatever reasons ( read it in their handbook). A welcome drink would've been nice especially after a long drive.

everything was great. the location was very private and close to main road. the communication with the “owner” was excellent

nothing really. although an opening in the garden natural fence allowing a view on the beautiful country side would have been very welcome.

This is a wonderful place to stay and Elspeth was marvellous and very friendly. Everything just works perfectly…..exceptionally clean, great beds and bed linen, good storage, fab kitchen with all you need, lovely outdoor space, huge comfy sofa, great shower etc etc. We loved sitting at the bar in the kitchen on the fab chairs whilst someone was cooking. Would totally recommend🌟

Lovely ‘Little Barn’ in the countryside

Good layout and fittings with privacy and lovely little garden space. Perfect for our family of three. Loved seeing the sheep in the field behind the barn and watching the sunset over the trees.
