All kitchen equipment seemed to be in full working order, although the induction hobs took up a lot of space on the breakfast bar (which incidentally has only two stools).
Having booked at short notice for an eye-watering price (plus an extra £7 for their security test) and getting no reply to a check-in time request question we raised, we received a text on the arrival afternoon advising of 'a situation' at the flat and that the cleaners might not be finished until 6:00pm. We arrived at 5:45pm to find no keys in the box. Why were we not advised that the box was empty? Messaging the landlord received no response. It took three phone calls to the landlord rental company who frankly didn't seem as concerned as we were, eventually advising that someone would 'drop by' with a key. Just by complete chance the two ladies who had actually cleaned the flat walked past on their way out for the evening, kindly stopped to help and without question were instrumental in resolving the problem, with their boss arriving with the key within minutes, shortly after 6:30pm. Left to the rental company I don't know when we would have gained access. Gaining entry at 5:45pm was already going to make us miss the beginning of the folk festival concert we wanted to see; now we had to miss the whole set. The next morning we just received an auto-generated message 'We hope you had a pleasant first night'.
We were disappointed to find that the No.2 bathroom was downstairs from the bedrooms. This isn't stated in the accommodation description; it should be clearly stated to ensure people know that the layout meets their needs. The bath didn't have a non-slip finish, nor did it have a plug. Also the plugs in the sinks did not close properly in the down position, there was no shaving socket and the extractor fan didn't work. Still, there were two bog brushes! The shower in the en suite was also slippery underfoot.
The 'Sun Terrace' was extremely basic.
