Great little place for a loner or a couple to stay if visiting Cardiff.

Michelle was a lovely helpful host and keeps a clean and comfortable house. It was easily within walking distance from the city centre for any active person. Value for money was really good and I would stay here again if I re visit Cardiff.

Like the host couldn’t wait for us to leave

Leaving

After we left the property, I had a phone call from the host and we was accused of smoking inside the property, however we didn’t the smell remain on our clothes, we got informed the host was a police officer. Was abit confused why we got told that.

Ideal for a night out in Cardiff

Michelle is very friendly and helpful, provided excellent communication and instructions. Breakfast was tremendous and cooked fresh to order. Reliable wi-fi. Easy on-street parking right outside the property. Easy 20-minute stroll into the city.

Very poor accommodation!!

Location was ok

First of all, there was two drawers missing from the side unit, no wardobe but a hanging rail, this had mixture of plastic hangers but only the first three had ever been used, consequently there was dust on the others! The kitchen was crammed full of stuff, the staircase had peeling stickers on it but by far the worst was the larder fridge, this was absolutely crammed full of foodstuffs, it was utterly impossible to tell if any foodstuffs had gone off or mouldy, in our eyes it was very unhygienic and consequently we decided not to stay there.

Do not stay at this horrendous squat of a house

It was horrendous dirty the bed hadn’t been changed by the last guest stay it was a discusting kitchen was a fridge full of mouldy food

It was horrendous dirty beds kitchen bathroom freezing cold told to use a water bottle we went in feb so weather was freezing the worst b,b I’ve ever been to and I travel a lot

Lovely host made us feel very welcome. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed plus more. We were treated to a huge cooked breakfast on our check out which was very generous. Loved our stay.

Will not be returning I only stayed an hour and won’t refund me

I arrived I was looked up and down and then the host said “what’s up did you think it was a hotel “ I was then told to take my shoes off abruptly, I was told breakfast was not going to be very good as she never had much in then was tutted when asked what time breakfast was , I went in too the room and it was cold and damp the “view”from was full of rubbish and the shared shower was right at the back of the house , please avoid at all costs

Michelle is the perfect host

I booked Welsh Homestay for my son and his friend to stay after the six nations' rugby game. They were both very impressed with everything.... the cleanliness, the room, the facilities, and especially the host Michelle. Michelle was the perfect host and made them feel so welcome and went above and beyond. I will definitely recommend it to family and friends if they are ever going to Cardiff.

Amazing, perfect for a little Cardiff getaway 👌

I've stayed here twice now and will come back many more times. The room was lovely and the bed was so comfy! Very clean and the shower was nice. Michelle is amazing an amazing host. The location is perfect if you want to be near city centre for a very affordable price. 10/10 for me

Just could not wait to get out of the house

When I arrive to the property the services was poor and not very helpful in regards to setting up internet services and not proper instructions about what time the breakfast going to be served no decent showers facility Very disappointed.

Well worth staying, an ideal base for seeing more of Cardiff

It was clean and comfortable, the bed was very good and nothing was too much trouble for the host. The location was very good, close to the city centre and quiet. I had a nice chat with the host, she was very friendly and easy to talk with.

A very small gripe, I didn't mention this to the host, it wasn't that important. The downstairs toilet could be more stable, it moved more than I expected.

Very friendly welcome. Felt like at home. Excellent recommendations and lovely chats. There is a definite vibrant and positive energy which made our stay in Cardiff really exceptional. Breakfast was delicious and in very good company. Walking distance from the city centre and very nice pubs, restaurants nearby. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality.

An Authentic Taste of Welsh Hospitality

Michelle was a wonderful host! Staying at her property gave me an intimate experience of Welsh hospitality at its very best. I particularly liked that I was greeted with an offer to drink tea during check-in (which I accepted), and that she made herself available to answer any questions I had about Cardiff, Wales, and the UK. Michelle also cooks a wonderful breakfast and puts a lot of care into meeting the dietary needs of her guests, so long as advance notice is given. The property itself is a nice, quiet get away in the middle of the busy city that boasts a cozy kitchen area, a spacious room with a comfortable bed, and views of a beautiful garden-area. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to stay at a place in which interaction with the local host is possible.

I have no complaints about the property itself, but it is worth noting that since this is a homestay, good and timely communication with the host is essential to making the most out of one's stay at this property.

Ok but wouldn't go back again ..

Comfortable bed , quiet. Host was nice breakfast was OK.

Room had 5 mirrors in ?? Toilet lifted of the floor , and being asked to take shoes of ? Well never been asked that before in all the years been travelling around .. no where to hang clothes so kept in hand luggage, and drawers missing .. Not my cup of tea sorry ...

Never going back to this place

The host wasn't very nice. The room was small. The bed was uncomfortable. There was a very dangerous downward step in the kitchen that my husband and I both nearly fell down. There was rotten fruit in the kitchen sink. The host refused to make us breakfast which was supposedly included in the price. We were so disgusted that we spend hours at the movie theatre and came back just to sleep, then we got up early in the morning and left as soon as we could.

Michelle was absolutely the kindest host. For a great price we had a lovely night stay, and an amazing home cooked breakfast made for us in the morning. She has great recommendations of places to see in Wales, and is just very knowledgeable overall.
