Very comfortable and nicely decorated. Good location. Immaculately clean in the apartment.

The entrance hall and landing areas were dirty with a massive pool of water on the floor when we arrived. Some missing pictures and holes in the walls. But the actual apartment was lovely. Could have done to have a couple of larger oven dishes. Pub was great and staff all very friendly and helpful. Recommend booking as it did get busy from 5pm onwards and long waits on food. The booking system for the swimming pool was confusing. We were told we just needed to turn up and swim and yet when we got there, staff said they had just changed the system to needing to book a time slot. Nobody had informed owners about this though so lots of angry people and confusion. Returned the following morning to book a slot to be told they’d abandoned booking ahead and so we just had to turn up, but it was too busy and to try again later. Had a very upset 5 year old. We did eventually get to swim but it did tarnish the experience.

Perfect stay in a perfect apartment

Lovely apartment on a great estate with short walk to the beach. It's was spotlessly clean with nice little touches you don't see at other places. Seamless access and a thoughtful welcome pack left for our arrival.

Fantastic stay, our dog loved the apartment and area. Location brilliant.

Really nice homey vibe, everything nice and clean and comfy bed and couch. Lovely welcome pack was left for our arrival as well, nice touch. Lots of utensils and cooking equipment, also plenty crockery and glasses.

Unsure on how the fridge worked fully it was set to very cold semi froze a few things in the fridge. No hairdryer in the apartment, partly our fault should’ve brought one as well but would usually think one would be there.

We loved it that we were in such a lovely peaceful area.

We loved it a lovely area. The only pub on sight was fab we had a Georgous evening meal and a lovely breakfast.

When you have a lovely bathroom it’s better to make sure the shower works properly and make it easy to use as we didn’t it was not user friendly. A map of the area would have been good too.

Well appointed apartment, attention to detail.

Strong smell of stale cigarette smoke in landing/stairwell despite open window. Unable to control temperature on ceramic hob. Didn't use. Shower controls very loose, function hit and miss, also no instructions on use. Some pans not properly cleaned. Other items fine. Pub menu advertised breakfast from 10am. On visiting at 10.30 am and ordering breakfast, told only did on weekends until school hols!

Nice apartment in a nice complex good pub on site and a nice walk down to the beach

It was not up to expectations when paying a premium rate for mid week. (Thur/Friday The apartment is lovely but ordinary and bog standard I expected a little more "luxury" for the price paid . Firstly the parking, it stated there was on road parking at the front of the property but there are yellow lines all down the road we were able to park to unload but were unsure where to put the car The car park was at the back of the property but we were unsure if we could park there luckily we did not have any problems. My grandaughter and I had forgotton our slippers and we walked around the flat for a while but our feet became very dirty with sand dirt and debri floor had not been thouroughly cleaned ( i have photos!) Im getting on a bit and not good with technology and i could not work out how to use the convection hob and could see no instructions anywhere. We were left a small "welcome" pack with a few things in but only one shower gel and no other toiletries. I know this is self catering but I have stayed in many places where these have been provided I also would have expected some basic provision like a carton of milk and some bread instead of a few sachets of UHT milk and cheap coffee. The bed... the mattress looked old and yellow ( I dare not peek too much) and was too soft there were a couple of toppers and a mattress protector on it (which was stained!) Surely a luxury property could provide a hotel standard mattress. The armchair in the lounge was worn and stained on the arms There was no dressing table with a mirror and plug socket so not well thought out. The leisure centre on site was Ok but quite basic again not what I had expected. After paying £310 for 2 nights ( no access till 3pm and be out by 10am) I was quite disapointed I do not like to put negative reviews but I feel i have to this time.

Fantastic self contained flat - would rebook

Beautiful self contained flat in a holiday village near the sea. Perfect for couples wanting a quiet weekend away. Pets are welcome, dog walking on Filey beach is a great activity, but the holiday village offers a lot more as well.

Might just be me but the shower was fiddly to work. Don't just turn, you have to push and turn. Figured it out in the end though :-)

Abit hard to locate but Jo very. Kindly using my phone talked us the way we were not that far away but with jos help found our accommodation the plug in the bathroom sink was stuck so couldn’t use on last day but made a note in the maintain ence book sure it will get sorted

Quiet and relaxing.

The Location on booking.com states beachfront and this is misleading because the property is not near the beach and there would be justification for claiming a refund. The Bay is very quiet and relaxing a great base to explore the surrounding area and lots of walks around too. The place is very dog friendly. The pub, shop and leisure centre is a 5 min walk away and everyone really friendly. Would we go back to The Bay yes we would.

Home from home... But tidier 😂

The location was fantastic. The apartment had everything you could need for a really comfortable stay, it felt like home from home despite being the first time we had stayed. The beach was amazing for fossil hunting, kite flying and sandcastles. We found a number of fossils, the kids were extremely excited (as were we!). We made good use of the pool which you get a pass to use (free entry) just turn up, no need to book.

One of the pull out beds was extremely uncomfortable. We ended up just using one and squeezing our youngest in between us in the double bed (we're used to that anyway 🤣)

Perfect break in a peaceful & lovely apartment

Lovely fully equipped, modern, pet friendly apartment in a beautiful uniquely designed village complex with fabulous amenities. The apartment is spacious & very well laid out. The owner even provided a welcome box which was a lovely personal touch. A little dusty in places but overall very clean & fresh. We dined in the restaurant on site, which was also dog friendly, great food & friendly & helpful staff with fast service. Spa, cafe & private access to the beach which was a nice stroll away.

The power cut on our first night, which was an issue at the grid & not the apartment or The Bay village complex.

Lovely place to relax, that's Sandy Bottom and Yorkshire.

The flat was everything we could have hoped for other than no sea/lake view , clean, comfortable and well equipped. The treat box was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated.

A shaving mirror in the bathroom would have been nice . The smart TV was too smart for us technophobes ,we could only get "my 5". Luckily for us there's another TV in the bedroom. This one wasn't overly clever 😜 We expected a sea or lake view, but there wasn't one.

Comfortable apartment in a holiday resort.. Walking distance of the fabulous beach and resort facilities. Quiet position.

Description said Beachfront and Lake view.. 10 mins walk to beach and lake obscured by other properties. Kitchen planned for giants; couldn't reach pans or glasses without climbing on a chair.. Parking provision unclear. Double yellow lines to the front and limited spaces at the rear.

Location was good as close to main road out and we were meeting up with family in primrose valley

Sandy bottom was a home from home for our stay. We were worried about parking on double yellows so carried stuff from car parked in bay behind apartment to unload. When going home we parked at front on double yellows to make carrying easier.

Lovely comfortable apartment in an attractive complex. The location suited us,but it's not beachfront or with a lake view as listed. Previous comments stated this so I knew what to expect. The apartment was light and spacious,good sized rooms.

Previous comments requested more toilet roll to be supplied. Still only one roll for our stay (3 people,3 nights). The extra touches of welcome treats were nice. Perhaps some cleaning products would be useful in the apartment. Some areas were a little grubby...feel like it just needs a good spring clean.

Very comfortable and well equipped with lots of attention to detail. Warm and cosy. Welcome pack was nice. Clean with pleasant sea side decor which I loved.

Advertised as on the beach with a view of the lake. Neither was true. There was only one toilet roll.

A fantastic apartment , superbly decorated and furnished. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Well equipped, has everything you need. I have stayed in 3 other apartments on The Bay and this is by far the best!
