Sleeper Cottage

Stayed before so knew what we were getting. Great location. Rooms were well equipped, smart TV, full kitchen including cooker, hob, microwave oven, washer and dishwasher. Plenty of utensils, crockery and cutlery. Bedrooms were good, plenty of towels etc, good bath and shower. Handy having French patio doors on the grass at the back, and outdoor seating.

The bushes leading down the paths (one to the house and one next to it to the road) needed a good tidy. With the rain, always good a good soaking going in and out. Seemed to be an influx of big flies in the property waiting for us. Every time we got rid, seemed to get more in. Frustrating! Skylight window on the stairs needed a good clean from loads of cobwebs and there were two old tissues behind the bedside table in the room with two single beds, obviously not thoroughly checked when cleaned.

Perfect location for a relaxing break. Our cottage was spacious and clean with easy outdoor access for our dog. The beach was a short 15 minute walk. Location was great - just an 8 minute drive into Filey itself and approx 20mins to Scarborough.

Only negative was the patio where cigarette ends had been left by previous occupants and immediate border landscaping could do with a little tlc (nettles and weeds)

Instructions prior to arrival were great. Keys in an external key box. House was great, clean, kitchen well stocked with crockery, utensils etc. Oven, fridge, microwave, washer and dishwasher all good! Complimentary box with tea, coffee, milk sachets and cookies, plus another box with cleaning items a nice touch. Living room had a dining table and four chairs, three and two seaters, wall mounted TV and very good WiFi. Also a downstairs loo. Upstairs, good bathroom with bath and shower (in the bath but great all the same). One room had two single beds plus a small TV, next room has double bed. Had a great stay, only slight thing I’d say on a negative was double bed could’ve been bigger. On site facilities include a pub where food looks good, breakfast certainly was as we sampled that. Also shop which was handy. Is a 10/15 minute walk from the lovely beach. Would definitely stay here again!
