San Giorgio Suite

The apartment was very spacious, with three good-sized bedrooms, a large living room, and a generously sized kitchen. Even the hallway felt like an extra room. There are two bathrooms, although neither is directly connected to a bedroom. One bathroom has a fully functional washing machine, but the drying rack is too small to hold a full load of laundry. A larger drying rack would be a welcome addition. The kitchen was fully equipped, including a good coffee machine and complimentary coffee capsules. The refrigerator was a bit small considering the apartment can accommodate several guests. The living room isn't suitable for sleeping, but it is very spacious and has plenty of comfortable seating for everyone to relax. One bedroom has two small single beds, making it better suited for children, while the other two bedrooms each have a comfortable queen-size bed with new mattresses—one softer and one firmer. The apartment is very clean, including the bathrooms, the kitchen, and all of the bedrooms. The apartment is very well located. You can reach the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the city center in about 10 minutes on foot, and the train station in around 15 minutes. There is also a bus stop just a 2-minute walk away, with direct service to the train station. Many restaurants and terraces are within a 2–3 minute walk, some even in the same building. Affordable parking is also available nearby, just 2 minutes away, costing around €2 per day or less.

The only downsides were the noisy air conditioners, which made sleeping with them on difficult, and the missing shower door in the second bathroom, which causes water to splash across the floor. The air conditioners in each room, although they cooled very well and very quickly, were quite noisy. Fortunately, all the windows have mosquito screens, so we could comfortably sleep with the windows open. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The apartment is one flight of fairly narrow stairs up, which wasn't a problem for us and is clearly mentioned in the listing.

The location of the apartment is perfect! Tucked away in a small square and within walking distance of all the main Pisa tourist sites.

The apartment is up some pretty steep stairs, which can be tricky with luggage. Otherwise, they’re no problem.

I really want to write something more positive about this property but to be honest, the conduct of the property manager actually ruined our stay in Pisa. We had booked for 4 nights but our flight was delayed and our arrival time would have been in the very early hours of the morning outside their check-in times. Despite letting the property manager and Booking.com know about our delay (their policy says check in times outside their normal hours are available on request), the property manager CANCELLED our whole reservation. We arrived in Pisa with no accommodation and had to walk the streets with my elderly in-laws and our two young children at 3am looking for somewhere to stay. We ended up having to pay an eye-watering amount for that first night at a hotel near the airport in Pisa as we had no where else to go. We rebooked at San Giorgio for the next 3 nights and it was a nice apartment but we had already lost so much money and it spoiled our family holiday in Pisa. It also turned out that the check in process is remote anyway so we were perplexed why the later check in could not be accommodated in the first place. The property manager did refund a portion of the first booking which we were grateful for but it was too little too late and should never have reached this situation. We were very financially damaged by this experience.
