The worst experience ever

The WORST hotel experience of our lifes! We arrived around 19h and there was no one at the recepetion (supposed to be open up to 21h), so we checked in by ourselves using a machine at the entrance. Once we got in the room, we noticed a lot of dust and hair all over the floor, indicating that the room had not been cleaned for weeks. Package of food still on the table. We tried to talk to someone, but NO ONE was at the reception and no clear indication of other means of contact. The beds were rumpled (unmade) and we found a female UNDERWEAR in the middle of the bed sheets!!! We immediatly left the room and went to another hotel late night. Terrible terrible experience...

Great budget hotel

Travelling with my dog, the room was appropriately distant from too much activity (at the end of the corridor). The room was air conditioned, the staff very pleasant and helpful. It's in a quiet location but there's a large supermarket and several places to eat locally. The walk from the hotel location to the seafront is beautiful, with a separate cycle path. This is a great budget hotel with high standards of cleanliness that I'd love to visit again and stay more than one night.

An on-site café for breakfast would be nice.

Late check in process is not easy after a long day.

Check in process if you arrive after 9pm. We have previously used the Ibis Budget in St Omer and had no issues as reception is manned 24 hours. Trying to locate our booking number at the end of a long day was stressful, and we couldn’t access the car park until we had checked in.

The entry system didn't work properly The receptionist had an attitude I'd booked for 2 nights but we were only put down for 1 which resulted in us not being able to enter the hotel or room as the code only worked for 1 night which was very inconvenient you need to look at your digital log in somebody else had problems with it but you did give us a free night I've stayed in lots of Ibis Budget before and never had any problems.

A correct place for one night only!

Your usual Ibis Budget, limited human contact, as the reception is mostly closed. There is a microwave in the hall in case you want to buy some food at the nearby groceries. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, unfortunately the pillows are too thick for optimal comfort. What's missing is a proper chair, you just cannot spend time in your room sitting on a stool!

The cleanliness and the warm welcome from the staff

In an effort to maximise accommodation space and reduce cost, our bedroom had been reduced to the minimum possible size. The toilet was almost too small to use with the door shut, the shower required a contortion to enter and there was less than a foot between the bed and the wall.

Lots of details in room: no soap on wash bowl from which you have no access to soap dispenser in shower cubicle. Couldn't get darkness in room ( switches above bed illuminated) blind on window only works if window closed, not ideal in summer! Access to shower extremely small plus shower leaked into bedroom through badly sealed screen door! Far too expensive compared to other types of Ibis hotels!
