About this villa rental
This beautiful, detached villa, with it's own pool 6m x 3m, ample garden and wonderful mountain views has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Situated in an edge of village position, within walking distance of a restaurant/bar/gelateria where one can dine on the terrace enjoying the mountain views. The restaurant also offers basic shopping.

The accommodation includes:
Large lounge with original fireplace & Sat-TV. WIFI and a comfortable double sofabed.
Fully equipped traditional style kitchen diner, including washing machine & dishwasher, leading out to a large terrace, perfect for dining al fresco while taking in the view of the Apuan marble mountains.
2 Double bedrooms, each with doors leading to top terrace with stunning views.
1 Bedroom with bunk beds
2 Bathrooms with showers.

A little about the area:
The location is 4km north of the market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana with its famous Thursday morning market, numerous bars & restaurants. Closer to home, the village of Villetta a 5 min walk away and has a restaurant, bar, pizzeria and a grocer shop. The train station is a 5/10 minute walk, for Lucca and beyond.
The Golf Course of Garfagnana is only a 5 min drive (6 holes) and the lake of Pontecosi too.
The area is ideal for trekking and mountain biking.
The fully walled mediaeval city of Lucca is an hour or so away, and is a great day out, full of sightseeing opportunities, restaurants, architecture, shopping, opera, and cycling around the walls.
Pisa with its airport, and of course famous for its Duomo and Tower is a 90 mindrive, and Florence with its wealth of history and art is 1 hr 40 mins.
The beautiful mediaeval town of Barga is a 25 min drive, and is lovely to visit, with its cathedral, cobbled streets, great views, outdoor music, and wealth of restaurants....
The National Parks of the Garfagnana, and the local ancient fortress (great for picnics!) are only a short drive away, as is the zip wire course through the trees, and of course there are numerous hilltop villages to visit very locally. Close also to a fantastic place for swimming in the river.
