We can help to arrange a shopping delivery service, home made meal on arrival, wine tours, children’s activities, wild swimming spots, festivals, events, and restaurant recommendations based on our personal knowledge of the area built up over 30 years.
In Cigiano di Sotto there are 2 three bedroom apartments, within a large farmhouse, rented exclusively together on a traditional Tuscan farm. The farm is on the edge of the medieval walled village of Castiglione which was recently voted as one of the loveliest villages in Italy, Castiglione has a restaurant, 3 cafes and small shops.
In each of the roomy apartments there are 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom. The apartments also have roomy lounge / dining / kitchen areas, fully equipped with modern utilities, and a modern bathroom in each. There is also a lovely shaded outdoor dining space with lovely views of the mountains.
There is also an office room, with internet access.
There is a large courtyard, good for eating outside with BBQ. The pool is a large 14 metres by 5 metres with a large sun terrace and fantastic views of the spectacular Apuane Mountains.
The location is quiet and peaceful with the benefit of village facilities within a short walk.
Castiglione is one of the main villages of the Garfagnana, arguably the most beautiful part of all Tuscany. There are 2 restaurants, 3 cafes and several shops in the village, which has regular feasts and festivals, including a fine medieval festival in August. There is a great view of the ancient Castello from the farm. The farm makes its own wine, fine preserves, cheeses and other dairy produce.
We can help arrange mountain biking, hill walking, horse riding, gorge walking, art classes and cooking classes which are all available locally.
Guests have access to the land on the farm, outdoor dining area and large pool area. There is a recreational room with computer that the guests can use.
The owner Sergio and his family live and work on the farm.

Me and my family had a really great time here, really nice house with beautiful views and walking distance to wonderful medieval village. Delicious restaurants close by. Arianna and Sergio are warm and caring hosts. When we arrived and found out that the pool was closed we were so disappointed, and then they bought a small pool for the children, very kind Note that their big pool isn’t open until June. The trafficked road is quite close, and there are some unprojected height differences without fence (if travelling with small children). Overall a lovely place in the Toscana paradise🤩

The location was perfect. We fell in love with Castiglione de Garfagnana and the view from our accommodation was spectacular. We also loved the sounds of the church and cow bells!
The accommodation was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed daily walks to the village for morning cappuccini and exploring the local villages and countryside by car.
The train station in Castelnuovo made it convenient for day trips to Lucca and Florence.
The notes provided by Friends of Tuscany were really helpful.
The host family was extremely responsive and hospitable.
We would love to return!

Poolen var ok,men vi mener at den skal renses hver dag pågrund af hygiejnen. Uden dørs stole og liggestole, hvor flere var i stykker og defekte, samt mangel af hynder til begge dele.
wi-fi 👎😡👎 betyder der var intet wi-fi i begge lejligheder.
Et stort plus- der var mange håndklæder til hver person. Vi var 11 personer.
