Excellent location and facilities, I was concerned because of the mixed reviews but I truly loved it and plan on coming

Loved the location close to everything and you can get one further seat from the bars so there’s not much noise I didn’t have a problem with it. Very affordable price

The bed is rock hard and the refrigerator turns off when you leave for the day which makes the refrigerator pretty useless in my mind

Inexpensive option in a great location!!!!

The bungalows are right on the beach and a short walk to the main village. I lived there outdoor area. I had the cheapest bungalow without aircon which was ok but if I stayed again I’d pay extra for the air.

Great location

I had a fan room that was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. There was a veranda to sit out on and dry dive gear. There was plenty of hot water in the shower. The resort is at the quiet end of the beach. There is a nice cafe/restaurant/bar on the beach. Food was tasty.

My main complaint is other guests. The semi-detached chalet next to me had smokers, smoke wafting in through the window into my room. Windows needed to be open to keep the room cool. Next-door chalet had a permanent resident who had several late-night veranda gatherings. Once until 3am. Would be nice if the resort were able to have a late night noise policy and some non-smoking chalets.

Absolutely awful

Nothing! It’s absolutely filthy, the site and the rooms dreadful.

Everything, it’s completely run down and used as a dumping ground with rubbish all over the site and under the bungalows. The rooms are beyond dirty with mould all over the curtains, disgusting dirty marks down all walls, furniture falling apart, clothes rail rusty and bathroom furniture falling off the walls. Booking.com should not be selling this place it’s not fit for humans to stay in. We left straight away, this place would have made us very unwell sleeping with all that mould and dirt. The property also refused to issue a refund.

Ant infested room, disgustingly rude staff, no fresh towels

We arrived at the front desk, the following day there was a power cut with no running water or electricity. We found out this was all of Koh Tao and every other hotel and even hostel was informed. But not us. The room was full of ants.. like infested. My partner was very unwell during the stay when I asked staff for an extra towel they refused. I then said could I change it at least for a fresh one. The staff then stated they only would do that once a day. It took for frustration to be shown for my request to be complete. The staff walked around very miserable, when I went to the front desk, the woman behind the counter sat on the floor, when I said excuse me she put her finger up and shook her head. She then was clearly speaking rudely about us shouting at her colleague. On check out they stated they would not get up prior to 08:30 and to leave the key in the door which was a padlock and if that wasn’t there when they came down it was a £20 fine.. which as you can imagine would be hard to argue in another country The staff on arrival were joking and laughing about a tsunami which was very insensitive and unsettling after an earthquake. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone even it being slightly cheaper. The only positive was it was on the beach.

WiFi didn’t really work Power outages multiple times a day for minimum 10 mins Loud music goes on until around midnight everyday Bed was the worst we’ve slept in, in our lives; both had neck and back pain from our bed Insects everywhere Fan was stuck on an intense setting and has given us both a cold Besides the fan the room was unbearably hot Shower only had freezing cold or boiling hot settings Some staff were nice but most very blunt and unhelpful

PROS: Right on the beachfront in the only area that is free of boats to swim in. Big, clean and comfortable bungalows with very good value for money considering what you pay in neighbouring properties. Great restaurant and bar. Next door to other many bars and food on the beach. Walking distance to night life and the busy end of town which is convenient. You need to request cleaning of your room, otherwise it'll not happen. Would stay again as the place is amazing and far outweighs minor inconveniences. Stayed 13 days and wanted more.

The best family run beach bungalows in Thailand

Loved this place! The bungalow was basic but literally on the beach and perfectly comfortable with shower and toilet and that's all you need really! Staff excellent so friendly we felt we became part of the o'chai family! They run a bar on the beach in front of the bungalows and we were made so welcome we ended up staying 8 days rather than 3....we didn't ever want to leave! We rented paddleboards from them and they run a dive school which we are told is excellent so next time hopefully we'll do that too. We will definitely be back soon Koh Tao is special ❤️ Great sunsets, great cocktails, great food, great people!

If like me you like the old school way, is the place to be. And the old chai restaurant is my favorite place, they cook the fish like nobody And they are very friendly

Resort itself was nice, right on Sairee beach Bungalow was clean, AC worked well

"Beach front" bungalow was a semi detached rather than detached as pictured in listing (the first 2 or 3 from beach were detached, and onwards were semis) Mattress was firm to the point of being hard Water supply (shower / tap) was intermittent, sometimes when showering which was frustrating Party noise late at night - some music from adjacent resort on weekend, but also neighbouring bungalows most nights until very late

Perfectly Fine

Very basic accommodation, but central and cheap. If you have neighbours, the patio is basically shared with just a low wall between them, but my neighbours were very nice to chat too :) The Suba Shack also operates on site if you come to do some diving!

The photos are just a little misleading. I had some innocent ants in the bathroom (not sure what they were after), but insects are expected in such places.

Good location near dive school and beach. Also nice restaurants nearby and quiet at nightm Good size of bungalow. Shower had good pressure.

Mosquito net on door didn't fit on door so did let some through. Also no cleaning or changing towels in the 8 nights we stayed.

So amazing to wake up every morning on the beach.

We had to keep asking for extra toiletries as they did not once come in to clean or take the bins away, even when we left them out on the deck.
