Casa Clio

We have just spent a week in this fabulous apartment. Situated only 50 metres or so away from bustling Via Cavour, which is full of restaurants, bars and shops, Casa Clio is down a quiet little lane and is an oasis of calm - very quiet and peaceful once inside. We didn't need the air con during our visit but did use the two very efficient ceiling fans which kept the apartment nice and cool. The apartment is furnished stylishly and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need - the washing machine was particularly appreciated for a week's stay. We always eat out on holiday but could quite easily have knocked up a full meal in the kitchen area and there were even basic provisions (oil, pasta, tomatoes etc) available to use. The bed is a good size and comfortable and the bathroom was fine - the water pressure in the shower isn't great (don't expect a 'power shower') but having stayed in this area before we know it is not unusual and it was not a problem for us.  Everything was spotlessly clean. There were many nice little touches that we particularly appreciated - a selection of teas and coffee, snacks, sweets, water, juice, and even some wine in the fridge on arrival which was welcomed. The bathroom had a selection of toiletries and toilet paper. There were plenty of guide books and leaflets available for exploring the area and usb charging points for devices.  Communication with the hosts was excellent from the moment of booking and Lea met us on arrival to welcome us and show us where everything was and we were particularly grateful for her recommendations for places to eat.  We love Ortigia and Casa Clio is in a great location within the island. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

As mentioned above the water pressure isn't great but we knew that is to be expected for the area and it didn't detract from our stay.

Location was amazing. water pressure is bad, but seems to go with the territory. very pleasant cozy unit.

dampness, and circuit breaker would fail if too much was on at the same time.

This place felt like home. It has everything you need (kitchen tools, olive oil, coffee, salt, shower gel etc) and it’s beautifully decorated. Lea is reactive and super nice, I really enjoyed this communication. It was quiet but amazingly located, a few minutes by foot to the best streets and a nice little beach. Thank you so much !

Unfortunately, there’s a strong musty smell that made our stay less comfortable, even when we tried to ventilate as much as we could. Either than that, everything was great !
