Liceu Apartments by gaiarooms

Layout was very good and size was much larger than anticipated. Kitchen had all necessary amenities, bed was very comfortable. The location was absolutely fabulous! So close to La Rambla!

Couch wasn’t very comfortable but we didn’t need to use it much. Could add some comfier seating in living room but that’s truly just hair splitting at this point. I would stay here again.

Great Location

Bed was pushed up against the wall. No side tables or reading lights. Towels are small and cheap. No storage for clothes, so had to live out of our suitcases which had to be on the floor. No storage in bathroom only very small shelf. Only one hook in the bathroom to hang a towel. Dining chairs were wobbly and so was the kitchen table. No plug for the sink in kitchen ( which made hand washing dishes up ridiculous and no plug in bathroom sink) No Tea Towel to dry dishes. TV did not have Netflix as per advertised. Not a Smart TV. No English Speaking Stations to watch at all. Coffee machine leaked a lot of water from the bottom. It does have a dishwasher but to use it, you have to buy your own powder. (Small amount would have been nice as an option) A couple of USB charging outlets would be handy.

Amazing location

Check in was difficult. No place to drop-off luggage except there other location which is a 15 minutes uber ride. All hot water was closed when we got there. No indication of how to open it.

Location

Very disappointing stay. The only positive aspects were the convenient location and the good communication with the property representatives. The bathroom was in a terrible condition. There was a strong urine/sewage smell coming from the bathroom throughout the entire stay, so the bathroom door had to remain closed at all times; otherwise, the whole studio (Apartment 324) would smell. There appears to be a drainage or plumbing issue. The shower leaked constantly, leaving the bathroom floor wet. The silicone sealing around the shower was poorly applied, and there was visible mold and dirt in the tile grout, making the bathroom look neglected and unhygienic. The furniture was also in poor condition. The sofa had large visible stains, and the bed was unstable and very noisy. It stands on four legs and makes loud creaking sounds every time someone sits down or moves on it. The kitchen was poorly equipped. There is a dishwasher, but not a single dishwasher tablet was provided. There was also no dishwashing liquid, making it impossible even to wash a cup properly. No sponge or cleaning cloths were available—only paper towels. What makes this even more frustrating is that the property requires a €150 security deposit, despite the apartment already showing clear signs of wear, damage, and lack of maintenance. Overall, the apartment does not match reasonable expectations for cleanliness, comfort, or upkeep. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this property.
