Yzers Boat House

We absolutely fell for this Boat house! Clever use of space everywhere; somehow they’ve managed to fit more comfort into fewer square metres than most people manage with twice the room (and zero personality). Just a few metres from the beach, so you can fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. It’s the ultimate white-noise machine, except it comes with actual salt air and the occasional dramatic splash for free. Bonus points for the lovely fireplace (perfect for those “it’s still a bit chilly even though we’re at the beach” evenings) and the outdoor braai area — because nothing says holiday quite like feeding a fire while the ocean provides the soundtrack. Checking in and out was a total breeze. No treasure hunts for keys, no cryptic instructions written in hieroglyphics, just smooth, stress-free arrivals and departures. Highly recommended if you like your beach stays with character, convenience, and just the right amount of “how did they fit all this in here?” cleverness.

What a beautiful house. It’s not the biggest house but it certainly delivers a big in terms of design, location and comfortability. Always a wanted to stay at this house and it was even better than I would have imagined. The host is also really good and always staying in touch to make sure that we were happy. Would definitely becoming back

Nothing at all

The hosts were superb. Communication was first rate, and they went out of their way to provide and ensure a superb experience. The houses far exceeded our expectations, were exceptionally clean and superbly equipped.

I ended up staying at the main beach house, as the description of the original 'beach house' was misleading: it had no sea view and was stuck behind the main house. That said, it was a beautiful house. Sadly, my opinion is tainted by a lot, nothing to do with the house itself.

The way the hosts dealt with feedback. It felt like I was contributing to future guest stays rather than taking any remedial action for my own. I am still shocked, after all I shared confidentially, and the money I spent as a single person staying in their 'open' house, that I have not received a meaningful follow-up from the owner.
