It was scary being in those woods with lions and elephants and they ddnt tell us that we need a 4x4 for that place. Almost killed my Opel Corsa.

While Griffon's rest is not for everyone - no electricity, but with an inverter to charge mobile phones and portable lights, the location is excellent! Deep inside the heart of the Marikela National Game Reserve. I was told on the day of my arrival that I missed an elephant sighting by about 30 mins! Oh, be aware that there are only spotty mobile networks

Please note that the drive from the main road to the dirt road is not the best and that from the dirt road to the venue it is even worse, but I made it comfortably with my Renault Kwid.

The house is a historical monument! You can literally live in the good old days, using very limited modern technology.

All the facilities in the house are extremely old. We enjoyed the historical feeling, however, some items can be replaced with cleaner or newer ones, such as the cords of light bulbs -- their light cords are so dirty we don't even want to touch them. By the way, the power resources of the whole house are very limited, there is only one very old solar battery and a single socket in the whole house. At night, the electricity is low, and when it rains, there is no electricity at all...
