Wonderful location to the center city. Large shopping mall across the street with lots of stores including a full size grocery store with very reasonable prices. Walkable to everything with several nice restaurants close by.

The furniture needs to be updated. The bed was so hard and the only chair to sit on was broken.

Location.. clean. Joanna was brilliant. Bath room was very good. Water preasure is sooo good!!

The only and only thing that bothered me is the shower host. It was held so high that i have to jump to bring it down. Maybe all the Portuguese is tall. Not a big issue .

The apartment is ideally located in the heart of the old town, making it a great starting point for exploring Funchal. Plaza Madeira shopping centre is only a short walk away and includes a large supermarket, which was very convenient during the stay. The location also made it easy to be picked up for tours and excursions nearby. A private taxi service is available through the accommodation as well. Arthur, the driver, was very welcoming and easy to communicate with. Upon arrival, he kindly gave a brief introduction to the area and pointed out several useful places nearby. Communication with the host was clear and efficient throughout. The apartment access codes are sent on the day of arrival, and both check-in and check-out were smooth and uncomplicated. I stayed in Apartment K, which was spacious, tidy, and comfortable. Small details such as the olive oil, salt, and pepper provided were a thoughtful touch.

One aspect that unfortunately affected my stay was the limited hot water supply in the shower. From the beginning of my stay, the hot water only lasted around two minutes, and by the end this had improved to approximately five minutes. I reported the issue straight away, and the owner did come by the following day to attempt a solution, which I appreciated. Although some adjustments were made afterwards by increasing the boiler temperature, this only improved the hot water in the kitchen and bathroom sink, while the shower itself remained an issue. Unfortunately, the problem was never fully resolved during my stay. After reading previous reviews mentioning similar complaints, it seems this may be a recurring issue affecting more than one apartment. This was disappointing, as it did have an impact on the overall comfort of the stay. The apartment includes an induction cooktop, although there were no instructions available on how to operate it initially. It also took some time to figure out which pans were compatible with certain burners. As a final suggestion, the apartment currently only has one mirror, located in the bathroom. Given the generous amount of space in the living and sleeping area, a larger full-length mirror would be a valuable addition for guests.
