We liked the location, very easy to walk to both beaches in Scarborough and close to the castle. The flat was comfortable, nice and warm with plenty of hot water.
Some aspects were quite basic, the decor quite tired and I would have expected slightly more for the price. The boiler is in the master bedroom and woke us up each time the heating came on or if someone used the hot tap. The kitchen equipment was fairly basic, with only 2 small pans and a frying pan, self catering for a family of 4 was a bit of a stretch for us. We were not provided with washing up liquid or any basic items such as salt and pepper, oil, foil etc so I had to buy them. The shower took a little bit of time to get used to and where it attaches to the wall is broken and unable to adjust angle and height. Upon checkout we were asked to empty the bins and place them in the bins outside. There are no bins outside. It lacked the personal touch and felt like a business transaction as soon as the balance was paid. The contract is littered with fines for this, that and the other which can add a degree of anxiety. I tried to call the property/owners but the numbers that I could find were not answered, one discontinued number, one went to voicemail. No one called me back. I've been a fairly regular Airbnb user for a long time and have never felt so disconnected to the host.
This is not a property for anyone with disability issues. It's on the top floor (4 storeys) up very steep stairs.

Lovely location on Scarborough sea front. The apartment was clean and comfortable. We loved the seagull visitor, he kept us highly entertained! Well stocked with everything we needed including milk, tea, coffee and biscuits and bathroom toiletries. Great location to use as a base and car park scratchcards were waiting for us in the flat. Good communication from host too.
50 steps up to the apartment was a lot with suitcases etc. No lift due to the age and style of the building. Also there was a smell of sewage from the bathroom drains that could be very strong at times, especially after using the washing machine. We told the owner who said they'd look into it. There is a sea view from flat 4 but the windows are small and high up so you can't see it unless you are very tall!

Comfy beds, clean and generally well presented.
50 steps up to Flat 4 which was not pointed out on booking. Not suitable for people with mobility issues or heart problems. Sea view fine if you were 5ft 7 or more!

Well decorated and laid out. Has everything you need for a stay. Nice beds and good hot water.
A very strong breeze through the (closed) Livingroom window meant it was uncomfortably cold even with heating on. Only 1 toilet roll provided for a weekend.
