The only thing I would recommend is an outside light as the street is quite dark and hard for people with mobility isuues to see where they are going

Was glad to get home.Front door looked like replacement door as gap all around.

Bed base on single bed was just a box with matress dropped in.Couldnt turn off heating in bedroom.So my health suffered a bit.Didnt stay for 4th night.

Amazing stay with an accommodative host. Serves a great sky scenery especially during dusk and dawn.

Everything was amazing. The furnitures and utensils were well prepared for us. I love the subtle decoration around the house that makes the stay felt like home. The garden is a great touch to this stay; it serves the best sky view, especially during dusk and dawn. The host was very accommodative: when we had some issues unlocking the door for the first time. Colin assisted us straight away through call. Thank you for the hospitality.

Parking was by first come first serve basis. There were times we parked anywhere around the neigbourhood area instead of directly infront of the property. The neighbbourhood area is quiet and peaceful, so we had no issue walking to the property. A designated parking would be amazing.

It was ok we made the best of it despite some of the obvious faults.

Very convenient to the Hospital and shops, it had most things we needed.

Not enough Pillows Towels,oven very dirty,bathroom floor dirty water damage around the bath,gas housing coming apart. We had to buy a bath mat as the safety aspect was dangerous for us older ones. Kitchen utensils were tired and old,including pots and frying pans. Only 4 forks for 6 people so we bought some,which we left there,we also left the bath mat. The front door was so creaky and gappy. The outside was dirty,dustbins stinking each time we waked past.

Comfortable and well equipped

The house was comfortable and well equipped. The only downside was the stairs very steep and small steps. A grab rail for getting out of the shower would be helpful too.c

Property in desperate need of TLC

The property had a lot of space inside and having a dishwasher & washing machine was helpful.

Overall the property appearance was quite run down. The guttering was hanging off the front of the house. The front door was not a proper regulated front door and had a massive gap down the side, you could see the strip of light coming through, the locks on the front door were not proper locks either. Security wise, it was not secure or safe at all. The property was in desperate need of tlc and freshening up with a lick of paint. There were lots of marks & dents on the walls, flooring. The front bedroom window was actually broken and didn't close, you could simply push it open, so it was also not safe. There was also a lot of rising damp within the property walls. The shower was not very warm and the toilet upstairs was wobbly. The on street parking was also a bit of a nightmare, especially if you couldn't park outside the house and had a lot of bags to carry back and for.

June/July 2023 Stay - Great for a long stay

The size of the property was excellent for our family of 5. It was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and well equipped with everything we needed for our 3 week stay while visiting friends and family. Located in a quiet street in Shirley, close by to shops and not far from the main centre of Southampton. The owner was easy to get in touch with and quick to sort out any issues where possible. We would happily stay here again next time we come back to Southampton.

None of these negatives outweigh the positives of our stay. With the weather being amazing when we stayed, it was disappointing not to be able to use the garden, especially with 3 kids under 8 years of age. It was overgrown and there was only an outdoor setting for 2 people. The stairs are narrow and took a bit of getting used to at the top. The large window next to the bed in the 2nd bedroom doesn't have a safety lock to prevent it opening right out. As this was the kids bedroom, they were under the threat of death (literally) if they even touched that window. An easy fall hazard for young kids.

1 too many issues for us to recommend this home

The owners responded quickly to messages and made it possible for us to check in early

This booking said it had parking, but it's actually on street parking, which was difficult at times. The front door was not fitted correctly, so it let a big draft in and made the property feel insecure. Dish washer provided but no salt and no tablets, making it pointless. Owner agreed a handyman access without telling us in advance, thankfully we were at the property otherwise a stranger would have been around our personal items without our knowledge. The property could be lovely, but it needs a lot of repairs.

- the dining space is very generous - the kitchen is fully equipped - the living room is clean and beautiful - the sofa bed is as comfortable as a sofa can be - the master bedroom is spacious and inviting

- there was no water pressure in the bathroom - completely undeveloped garden - the neighbors were not very nice, they complained to the owner that we were making noise/partying and threatened to call the police, even though we had just arrived at our destination, we were serving dinner in the family, nothing like that.

Home away from home

Property was clean and comfortable. Access was straightforward and there were clear instructions for everything. Communication by the host was great. Lovely garden... Etc. It felt like a home away from home which is what we wanted. We would definitely stay here again the next time we're in Southampton.

only very minor things such as having to adjust water settings as so hot, minor issues with bathroom sink, no dish cloth in kitchen and no bin in bathroom but easy to resolve as other bins. one bin in bedroom had hair in it from previous occupant. Main front door lock rather insecure but fine as had second lock.

Fantastic base for a family trip

I would highly recommend. The property was very clean and spacious with comfortable beds. There was a good stock of everything you would need there. A really good base for a family trip, lots of activities nearby and great base for Peppa pig World! Walking distance from a supermarket and easy roadside parking available. Great host with a very useful guide to the property available. Nice area, would be happy to stay again.
