Grey Apartment

The apartment is very nice and well equipped. The location was great for us. Very close to the city center, but quiet. The owner was extremely quick in replying to emails. However, there are A LOT OF STAIRS. About five flights of 8-10 exterior stone steps connecting the road below to the road above. It was fine for us. They weren't unusually difficult, there were good hand railings and broad landing areas between flights to catch your breath if needed--just a lot of steps.

There really wasn't anything that was a problem per se. But there are a few things that it would be good to know in advance. 1) the stairs as noted above, 2) there's a washer but no dryer (it took a full two days for things to dry), 3) nice little fridge, but no freezer. While we were there the heating was broken. They came a couple of times (very promptly) to try to fix it, but seemed to need more than just a reset. It was summer so not a problem with the room temp, but might have helped to dry the laundry.

The host was exceptionally responsive and the flat itself is in an amazing location! I wish we could have stayed longer than the 2 nights we spent. There is a well prepared folder with clear instructions on how everything works in the flat and has some great suggestions for local food/entertainment. When I realized that I was going to arrive early, the host was extremely helpful in arranging for an early cleaning of the flat and accommodated our request to store luggage even while the cleaners were finishing up! The flat is in a perfect location about 6 minutes on foot from the train station.

Had everything that was needed for a four night stay. Could walk easily to shopping and dining. Very close to bus and train station.

Apartment was very hot even with windows open. Maybe provide a fan for rental use. I found a store and purchased one for my stay. Was fine with the fan.

Location to shops and station was good. Neat and clean.

As Older people with luggage we found it very hard to get up many stairs on approach from High St and tight staircase in property. No instructions for washing machine. Needs two chairs.
